Same idea, try an engine flush. What weight oil are you running with what mileage motor? May be time to go thicker... B

I have the Thorley headers, 2.25 pipe into a 2" magnaflow cat (all I could get in CA), back to 2.25 into a Delta 60 Flowmaster. It sounds good at idle/low end, a bit ricey mid range and downright raspy 4500rpm+. Not exactly sweet music, but is seems to have some bottom end and likes to rev with power so I'm not messing with it for a long time. There are for more important things to do, one of which will be a custom snorkel... B

I am glad she is ok, that is all that matters although I regret the end of such a good looking pathy... We bought an R50 for my wife to commute in for exactly that safety reason, there are too many big trucks around here to drive 60 miles a day in a Honda Civic. I do have to ask, how is it she left the road when it seems to be open, straight without cross traffic? B

Well my melted marshmallow, $4k for a 100k R50 isn't bad at all. I happily paid the same for 99 with 150k. The mileage isn't a big deal as it is our 3rd car and will get low mileage, but they should run reliably for about 250k. As for light off roading, that they can do, but read up, it's all here... B

Does yous knows what the codes mean?? Out of the 98 FSM... I'm dealing with code PO0301 myself, but just started so I don't have specific help other than I read some threads that were the general PO0300, not a specific cylinder. One was a worn out dizzy shaft, another was knock sensor related and I don't remember the rest. Did you search?? B

Damn, no reply as to the fix. I hate that... The wife's 1999 R50 is giving me a PO0301 misfire on cyl #1 code. Going through the forum via search first. I haven't checked anything yet because I worked 12 hours today and don't have it in me. Onward with the searching... B

That's about the same price I was quoted by local tire shops too. The Pacer and the Crager rims are identical, made at the same plant, and if you cross reference some web sites, even have the same manufacturers part number. That's why the make logo is on the center cap... Simple FYI, I bought 5 Crager Soft 8 rims on sale at Summit Racing. Total shipped to my front door was $211.95 B

Just realized this was in TOTM so i moved it to the General section... Yes, it can and I have heard this also. An alarm guy told me to get a dual level alarm because some thieves tap on the glass and if there is no warning chirp they know there isn't a good alarm installed, if none at all. A blinking alarm light might stop involved thievery, but probably not a smash and grab like someone did for my wifes purse last year. It sucks, but but some people are opportunistic scum who think they have a right to damage/steal. I can not sufficiently express my disgust for such cretin. B

These are the two most effective things you can do. Personally, I don't put any expensive or high powered audio in any of my vehicles, just a decent deck and aftermarket speakers that fit into the stock locations. It just isn't worth the hassle and sounds plenty good anyway. 800 watts in a broom closet is way overkill... Sorry to hear this happened, but chalk it up to life experience. B

That is really odd. I can't think of any reason for that other than the steering box is putting a large load on the motor and the ECU is overcompensating. Han you hear or feel anything abnormal when it does this? It makes sense that it is only then you are idling and stationary (I'm assuming) because the wheels turn much easier when the truck is rolling... B

Well, I'm not sure what you are used to, but yes, many of us drive WD21s daily. 1) Not the best for gas mileage but hard to best for over all reliability and ability. 2) Revving it should work fine, but you won't be passing car at 75 mph at will. 3) Some wind noise but not bad. Foot well lighting... Flashlight. Seriously though, the 94-95 dual map light rear view mirror is an easy install and works quite well. Someone bought mine to do the swap, beastpath I think?? Anyway it is a good upgrade and probably all you need, especially if you upgrade to LEDs like Kiwipete did. He has a write up IIRC, maybe in his Members Rides thread? B

Yes, I used a light film of RTV, Permatex grey I believe but any of it will work for the waterpump IIRC. Read the tube, I think the blue specifies that it is antifreeze resistant. Same with the thermostat. Make sure to put the bleed hole up... I just did the timing belt last year and replaced everything also as I don't want to go into it again for the full 100k mile interval. I changed the crank seal, cam seals thermostat, bypass hose, timing belt, tensioner, spring, waterpump, both radiator hoses, coolant and all fan belts. I kept all spares of course... The problem with not replacing the bypass hose or waterpump is that if it leaks on the timing belt (almost impossible to remove without spilling a lot) the belt needs replacing as the antifreeze degrades the belt...
