NP. Also, inspect the keyway on the crank and the key it's self. A couple of people have had keyway or key failures which are a bad thing, as you can imagine... B

Exactly. No there isn't a lot of room, but the fingers don't have to be too strong eo=ither because it shouldn't take that much force, more even pulling. Penetrating oil will help a lot also, if only for the lubricity. Also, when tapping use a dead blow, brass hammer or even a length of brass or aluminum. Anything softer than the steel and it shouldn't hurt anything. Wasn't crapping on you, Bud, just trying to help... B PS The bolts were for the HB, not the sprocket. :coffee!:

Yep. I bought a puller from harbor freight for $16 or something, just had to get the right bolts. An important rule in mechanics: do not force it, do not rush. If it doesn't want to come off, there is probably a reason so stop and think, research and ask. If you get impatient you will probably do more harm than good. I've learned these personally... B

I love the easy fixes... B

I might have trouble sneaking that past the smog check ref... B

Ok, that makes more sense... Unless you did something really bad, it can't leak more than the old one and it didn't sound like an issue. Use the Farce and trust in yourself ... B
-
I don't know about the ass kicking part, but they definitely have class... B

Honestly, just change the damn thing, don't fark around with it. These trannys are a pain to pull so don't set yourself up to do it again in 50k miles... Ditto with the tranny jack. I swore that next time I have to do this, I'm buying one (rented last time and it cost 1/2 as much). No input with the wiring, me and electrons don't speak the same language. B

Seriously, that's where I'm coming from. It also puts more stress on the wheel bearings but different rims can do similar also. I won't run them though. B

You are welcome Bud!! A hell of a deal and looks good too... Hey, your truck is starting to look like mine!! Stop it!! Oh, wait, you have chrome bits... No worries, mine is still cooler... Check out the grassroots4x4.com steering upgrade, it's probably the most cost/effective unit. This. Compliance is good on trails unless you are bottoming out on rocks, but Pathys aren't really rock crawlers without serious work. B

Finished body lift and now pathy won't start

LOL NOPE!! It's never happened to me... Nope... I'm just glad it was a cheap and easy fix. B -
That sounds like a royal pain, I've had to do that on other bushings myself. Glad you got it out though. B

Check the positive and negative connections on your battery, check the ground at the chassis, the positive at the starter, check the voltage of the battery and move up the ignition line past the fusable links and read the voltage there also if everything else checks out. B -
I'm not quite sure that you mean. The tensioner spring against the little stud? Best take a picture and there is a good write up in the Garage section about this... B
-
Thanks, I added this to the thread pinned in the Garage section... :oak: B

Yes, and a Haynes manual has all that info also... B

A diamond wheel would probably last longer, but I have cut many bolts and slots with the cut off wheels. You either have crappy ones or you are pushing too hard or binding them. B
-
Red had/has some issue where it wasn't engaging/releasing but that is all I have ever heard for problems. B

I have heard some complaints about the AC UCAs, others have no issues. Those look like the Rough Country (black painted superlift units) UCAs though. Calmini couldn't even make my idler arm brace right, I have no faith in them and they will always be the most expensive... B
-
got my UCAs today, you would think id be excited

Damn, the $350 was steep to begin with... Sorry to hear. I've been burned by shipping before, so I always pay close attention now. B -
You replace the gear on the sender unit IIRC. Not hard and someone did it recently and did a write up. Let me know if you cant find it with search. B
-
Magnaflows are designed like that but for the best flow, just run 6" HVAC ducting straight back... B

Go into the Garage section and download the Factory Service Manual pinned at the top. It has an entire diagnostic section on the auto tranny. Warning, the stock cooler in the radiator is prone to clogging so most of us install aftermarket coolers and bypass the stock one. If yours is clogging and you keep driving, you will overheat and fry what is left of the tranny. Hopefully yours is not past hope, but start with the diagnostics. When is the last time the tranny has been serviced? B

I have no idea how you get 20+mpg out of an auto with MT tires... B

I've got a motor for sale for less. Too bad I'm so far away... B
