  1. This is humorous. I forwarded the link to several of my co workers and expect them to laugh just as much as I did.
  2. Can I take a 2wd trans from a 98 pathy and remove the tail shaft and put ony T case on her? Site unseen, maybe someone has been here before...

I am going to say yes because the T-case is detachable and the transmission is the same.

      Hmmm interesting

  3. Sweet. So the ball rolls farther... I had actually forgotten. About this, heheh... I'm getting stoked again.
  4. So this is an old thread, but what are the updates if any bra? Still good to go? I am about to do the same to mine and hope to goodness that I did not lose my tranny completely...
  5. So after 337K miles, this trans has lost reverse. This sucks.

Yeah that ain't bad, that transmission doesn't owe you anything at that mileage... I take it you've kept up with maintenance given the surprising mileage. Get an HD version of the trans as Tungsten said unless you want a manual swap of course.

Mine died after 163k. :) Seems to be a rash of people losing reverse lately though.

That is a good amount of mileage, even most domestic transmissions don't last that long.

  6. Didyou pull the yoke off and check the splines on the pinion already? My lockright has 8 springs too... Weird that yours has only 4
  7. Brother, almost sounds like the splines on either the drive shaft (if it is a slip yoke style) or on the pinion gear are stripped... Is the T case going into gear as it should? Maybe something slipping in the case as well but the drive shaft is what I am leaning towards...
  8. Hey bud, just saw your post. I would ask him some more questions... Inquire as to what has been done to the top end, as about timing belt service, and check the mileage... Looking at little things will tell you alot about how the previous owner drove and cared for it. IE pedals, boots on the CV axles and tie rod ends, look for cupping or excessive wear on front tires, is the steering gear box leaking, etc. I know its a vague answer to a blanket of other questions...
  9. As usual, it looks great Ryan. Did you make the scoop functional or is it just for looks?
  10. If you have kids like me... Then they will just pull on em and they won't be aimed where you need em when you need em anyway!! Haha
  11. Yikes, sounds like a mess. I was going to suggest pulling distributor and inspecting the gear but if the belt isn't moving....
  12. I have the factory rack from when I did my X swap. If you strike out I can ship it to you, its complete... Minus threadserts... But you wouldn't want to reuse those anyway....
  13. After 4 years I finally installed the new lift supports on the back glass... Why did it take so long? Well I just found them... Was not going to buy another set when I knew good and well I had the new ones somewhere. Turns out here were in my rolling tool box.... I found a huge amount of missing items in it when I started cleaning it out.... Bought some new floor mats, mine had huge holes in em. Tinkered with rear lighting, thinking about putting a dual element LED unit in the cargo area with red and white as well as up front....
  14. Yea, they do look good. How do you like em?
  15. No problem, just put an X rack on your truck and then the basket on top....
  16. Looks great! I am curious how many wires I can run behind my A pillar.... hahaha right now I have quite a few on the passenger side... Hey, thank you for going through the time and work it takes to get all the bugs worked out!
  17. Yes, the run is in Troy I believe. Its a 496 mile drive for me! Heheh, I am seriously thinking that I will be there...
  18. So it is quite the bummer having only that Pathfinder to drive, as we have sold the wife's Altima... Nice to have that debt gone for sure, but it really REALLY dampens my plans for world domination through drive train swappage...

Yes, we too only have 1 vehicle. Just try to enjoy the feeling that A) it's paid for, B) is virtually indestructible C) you can fix it when needed & D) it allows to to vent on NPORA!

and I complain about only having 3 road legal vechiles (not including work access)

  19. When doing the hardbody conversion I believe you have to change the radiator support as well as the grille and headlight assemblies. Thought about doing it myself but after weighing it out it was not something high on my priority list.
  20. Supercharged vg33!!! Or be like me, and buy and then sell several motors before you even put them in....sigh. Good luck man, these trucks are notorious for being underpowered.
  21. This coming from the guy with the name ferrariowner!!! Hahaha Yea, I guess that's right although it was probably the most efficient car I've ever owned. After turbo and tuning, I was averaging 42 mpg.
