  1. check compression of each cylinder, you will know for sure wather it's a head gasket issue. you may also want to pressurize the cooling system and see what gives, if anything.
  2. pulling it is a PITA. and no, i've dealt with an AT on my previous truck. it wasn't any fun either. the MT is a bit smaller, probably a bit lighter too.
  3. i am thinking this may be a good question for your local trans shops. prices vary so much that throwing a price out there would be just that.
  4. just look, it's either busted or not. can be v. hard, did you read any of those threads? yes,
  5. there are camera jammers out there.
  6. from what i have heard from people that have to deal with this, the spays work.. i am sure if you google around you will find all kinds of way to get around this BS. the best thing to do is this though: ain't those purdy? :D
  7. yeah. check the oil and the coolant.. these fluids should be together in either location. if they are mixing then yes, head related issue is most likely.
  8. good luck man. please let us know what/how, etc... thanks
  9. OE pump pumps more coolant through then the remanufactured ones.
  10. the water won't be moving much untill the coolant get's hotter then the t-stat's temp. you coul dhave air in the system, blockage or the pump isn't working. you could also have a leak from the bypass hose or even the pump itself. my pump was leaking for a loing time before i finally was able to find the spot where it was coming from. look very, very closely. i had no wetness under the truck at all until maybe 6mo after the thing started acting up.
  11. you may want to get under the car and have a look and feel at things.
  12. i've never seen an aluminum engine painted from the factory but i haven't seen every car either. lol that purple is real purdy, fo sho.
  13. i had one under the hood of my f-150 but i don't know if there is really enough room in the pathfinder. lol
  14. i am thinking that may be the problem here. hmmm and this has to be the longest multiple run on sentence ever. lol
  15. the X is bigger, has bigger motor, i think it has more room but not in the back (cargo area), comes on 32" tires. pathfinders are cheap, very reliable. x is a pathfinder on some steroids basically.
  16. yeah the outer is the one that comes off but not all by itself. it was kind of a pita.. a good vice and and a big craw bar makes it go much better. oh yeah.. too.
  17. since your head is already spinning i am not going to add anything on the oils.. just pick one. make sure you undo the fill hole first before dumping the oil out of the tranny. it's the upper one. once you have that one udone, go ahead and undo the bottom one and drain the oil. put the plug back in when done and refill. that's all there is to it.
  18. and mud. glad to read that the ordeal is over, you are taking it well, and everything aok.
  19. fill it up instead of leaving it almost empty. fumes are the ones that are volitile.
  20. how about 4x4 driving lessons? winch is for whimps. hehehe
  21. well, i dunno but that is where mine is for sure.
  22. pathy's are coiled so no add a leaf for them.. the add a leaf is for the hard body or an X.
  23. NOT SURE ABOUT THE 90 BUT ON MY 94 THE SPEED SENSOR IS IN THE TRANNY.. THE VERY REAR OF IT.. ON PASSENGER SIDE. IF IT IS NOT THE CABLE (IF THERE IS ONE) THE IT'S MOST LIKELY THE SPEED SENSOR. EASY TO GET TO BUT VERY TOUGH TO GET IT OUT. NEW SENSORS RUN ANYWHERER $50-$100 OR SO DEPENDING ON THE MODEL. (XE, SE, LE)
  24. the tensioner is just above the word "you" in black text, in the above photo. is yours in that position?
