  1. I wouldn't doubt that my strut mounts/bearings are shot, considering they are the originals with 130k on the odo. How much do they cost to replace? I don't have the $$$ to replace the whole strut at the moment. And will it matter if I just replace the bearings/mounts and not the strut? How long will it be safe to drive with shot bearings/mounts?
  2. I had the truck up on jack stands the other day when I was working on it and checked all the steering and such and nothing felt loose or bad, so I was leaning towards the swaybar.
  3. I have a 98 pathy and when I'm driving on rough surfaces (crappy roads/gravel) I hear a rattle in the front. I thought maybe it was the tie rods or the sway bar ends. It switches between the driver and passenger side, and it happens when I hit about 55 mph (unbalanced wheels). So I need some help deciding whether or not to take it to a shop to get it checked out. I was also thinking it could be ball joints or struts. Any advice is welcome!
  4. Ah, thanks very much. Does the canister itself need to be replaced, or just the vent control valve? Or is could there be something else wrong, besides the gas cap.
  5. Does anyone have a picture of where the canister is located, or what it looks like? It would help a great deal.
  6. Nah I didn't just fill up, the SES light has been on for a month or two and goes off and on some times. I always make sure to tighten the cap as tight as I can before it clicks, but I think the evap canister is a charcoal canister. But I'm not sure.
  7. I checked my codes today and I came up with P0440, Evaporative emission control system malfunction and P1448, Vent Control Valve (from Link) So my question is where are these, and how do I replace them? Thanks.
  8. Hey everybody I have been hangin around awhile and I decided to join. I am from Republic MO, just outside Springfield. My Pathfinder is a 1998 black XE 4X4. So far it has 31x10.50R15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's a tint, a hitch receiver, a broken taillight and a broken off resonator. It also has a few large scrapes and gashes in the rocker panels courtesy of a few large boulders. A few pics from my trip to SMORR
