I heard my name mentioned...... The symptoms you are describing sort of sound a little like distributor and a little like MAF harness, but neither totally seem to fit either 100% to me. And you keep mentioning low temperatures outside. I am thinking the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is the culprit. Keep in mind these trucks have two sensors, one for the gauge and one that feeds info to the ECU. Without proper info the ECU doesnt know what to do and can/will stumble like you are describing.

I had the same, VERY slow up steep hills.. So I did the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filer, air filter, all that good stuff and nothing changed. When I replaced the O2 sensor the thing came alive again. Remember, with these vehicles the 02 can be 'stuck' and not throw a CEL or code.

If its a factory hitch the sticker on it will have a part number printed on it starting with 999

WxChaser is right if it is a Nissan hitch you have to remove the rear bumper first. IIRC the bolts for the hitch to the frame are 17mm, but its been awhile. I got my off a salvage yard pathfinder with a basic 20 piece wrench and socket set.

I have seen that problem reported here many times and tightening seems to usually fix it. Replaceing the hose is always good though for piece of mind!

Nissan Motorsports has/had a T adaptor for the oil pressure sensor. Bronze, 1/8 NPT with the correct thread pitch. P/N 25073-RN010 Used it on mine! IIRC I was less than $10

The top hose. If you use this type of fitting, make sure to clamp it down real good! Use a wide hose clamp if you can.

Is the transmission control setting in power mode? Does the control switch flash several times when you first start the vehicle?

Shouldnt be too hard at all. there is plenty of space to run wires from the back under the headliner and to the front. Just need some bulk wire and connectors. Just did something similar on the Scoobaru last weekend.

I havent seen oily plugs on these motors cause problems either. IF the seal is good on the spark plug wires it shouldnt cause a problem but who knows what conditon or age the plugs and wires are. Agreed, sometimes just tightening them up will stop the leak. I would try that first just to see if it fixes it.

I am assuming you have a V6... Given the age of the vehicle, I would get a few if not all of the washers and rubber trays for the washers that the bolts go through that seat the cover to the head. One of them being worn out may have lead to the gasket problem. Here are the Nissan Part numbers: 13268-29N0A NES STAND X18 13268-D010C TRAY-R/CO X18 You can also clean the cover off or oil and repaint it nice and shiny! Make sure to use high temp paint.

In short, yes it can do that. Is it enough to worry about? On a WD21 probaby not, the leak would have to be REAL bad as the sensor is so far back.

The thermostat is stuck open. I had to fix this issue last winter on mine.

This I think is the key symptom: You have: 1) starts fine cold 2) sluggish acceleration <-mixture not reading properly/running too lean 3) complains when hard on accelerator pedal <- too lean again 4) dies/sputter after about 5 mins of running/hard to restart <- ECU goes to open loop after about 5 mins fro cold start and starts reading from O2 sensor once at operating temp stays in closed loop sounds like the temperature sensor or the oxygen sensor to me! start with the temp sensor it is the least expensive of the two and at 211,000 miles you need a new one anyways! (IMHO same could be said for O2 sensor as well!)
