  1. I have to concour, the KA24DE is extremely reliable.
  2. I agree! As said above at the vehicle age it probably needs it anyways. Bulk hose is very cheap and easy to replace and it will rule one problem out. Again agreed. NGK plugs and wires on Nissans are the way to go.
  3. Based on the symptom description, this sounds more like a MAF sensor harness issue/loss of engine power issue than transmission issue. But ....DO THIS 1. check that there is the proper amount of fluid in the transmission. Do this after it is warmed up with the vehicle still running to get a proper reading. 2. Get in the vehicle and start it. As soon as it starts look at the Power/AT switch next to the mirror control on the left side of the dashboard. IF the orange light on the Power/AT switch flashes several times (5-7) when the vehicle starts you have an error code stored in the AT control unit. As Precise said, download the FSM for how to read the AT codes and fid out what it is saying.
  4. PM me your email address and I can send you the diagram. 17370-0W010 VALVE ASM 28.95. As a follow up, it will most likely do this when you are about 1/8 a tank or less, and in warmer temps. You can also make it stop immediately by opening the fuel cap if its driving you crazy.
  5. That is caused by a wornout/stuck check valve in the rear ventilation line going to the fuel tank when the tank is trying to equilize pressure. The diaphram in the valve is vibrating as pressure changes in the system when the system equilizes pressure. Nothing major, more annoying than anything else. Eventually if the valve totally fails it may cause a CEL code like P0456 'minor evaporate system leak'
  6. yes they are a little pricy, good news is they are updated parts, the basic breakdown by production date is: 14950-0W00A CANISTER 10/95-07/96 $156.87 (NISSAN LIST: $233.83) 14950-1S717 CANISTER 07/96-07/97 $223.31 (NISSAN LIST: $320.73) 14950-1S72B CANISTER 07/97-07/02 $216.11 (NISSAN LIST: $310.40) 14935-54U1A VALVE ASM 10/95-07/97 $97.97 (NISSAN LIST: $155.32) 14935-54U0D VALVE ASM 07/97-07/02 $111.88 (NISSAN LIST: $168.28)
  7. This is caused the the somewhat common early R50 evap canister chaRcoal breaking down and destroying the vent control valve attached to it after 10 years or so on the vehicle. It is probably also the cause of your CEL.
  8. At 186k km I would add fuel filter as well to the list.
  9. By 'cutting out' do you mean the engine is turning off and you have to restart it or is it more of a stumble/loss of power?
  10. Wierd thing to have happen but makes perfect sense!
  11. First off Kingman, I am glad to hear you got it back in decent condition! Have you considered letters to the Mayor, City Council member for your area or Police Chief about them not contacting you as they should have and the general lack of interest in the beggining a crime that committed?
  12. I am back from the trip. Here are all the bolts to mount the bracket to the block and the compressor to the bracket. 11916-88G10 QTY: 1 $2.48 11916-88G0A QTY: 1 $1.11 11916-12G01 QTY: 1 $1.38 11916-12G0A QTY: 4 $1.93 1191612G04 QTY: 2 $2.18
  13. Not supplied by Nissan no.
  14. might want to look at the temp sensor on the inlet as well.
  15. that is correct. They were not built at the factory with them, thus they are not in the FSM or main parts cataloge but in the accessories cataloge.
  16. Yes. The extension has the armrest sit up higher and has the lid that flips to the side. Stock from the factory has a lid that flips to the back.
  17. I agree with Precise and Towncivillian. See what a scanner says to rule issues out. I would be thinking the coollant temp sensor as well as a possibility. At 13 yeas old I can easily beleive it needs to be replaced and even if this isnt the cause of your issue it would not hurt to change it.
  18. That is the maker's mark. 40 is the offset
  19. Nissan is very good about stamping lots of information on the wheels. If you look on the back side of the spokes on the R50 and R51 wheels, there should be stamped: 1) last five of the wheel part number looking like XWXXX where X= a number 2) The offset, 3) DOT/JDOT approval, 4) width and dimension of the wheel 5) the maker's mark For the WD21 alloys this information is stamped on the outside of the lego wheels
  20. I would suspect the evap canniser issue here and the knock sensor harness.
  21. Maybe there is an alternate universe where kittens look at pictures of us.

    1. nunya

      nunya

nope, they just look at pictures of kittens

    2. PHR

      PHR

Should we advertise in the parallel universe for our politicians?

  22. P/N 30409-33G00 GUARD-UNDER, TRANSFER $18.51 I will have to look up the bolts for it.
  23. Took some quick pics of mine, kinda dark as its under the truck
