Batt+AT temp+brake is the indication on the instrument cluster for the alternator going bad and not charging. The whine was the alternator you heard. Done this twice. I am sure others can also testify and admit they have gone too deep in the mud as well and fried their alternators.

Who has the BEST DEAL on TIRES ONLINE?
Alkorahil replied to borninabarn's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Agreed many places will price match! I guess my point being...like shopping for items at walmart....don't always assume online is the cheapest price on tires. Tires have gotten very competitive over the years, the dealerships have followed suit through support from the manufacturers buying power. I can t tell you how many people wont listen to us parts guys and just cut us off saying they will just go to Tirerack or so other online tire place, or just wont believe us when we say we can get it done for less. As I pointed out to a good autocross friend two weeks ago, yeah the tires he wanted were $150 each on tirerack, but then its $28 each to ship plus $15-$20 to mount the tires someplace whereas I can get the same tire the next day for $195 each AND get you the buy 3 get one AND get a $20 per tire rebate they didn't have! Sorry, just one of the things I deal with at work that irritates me. -

Too bad you are so far away! I was looking at BF Goodrich TA/KO 265/70/16. Tire Rack has them at $230 each plus $50 mail in rebate + $112 shipping = $982 We have them @ $291 each, but buy 3 get one free plus $50 mail in rebate. = $823 + $20/ tire for mount+balace = $903 + tax $977. And you can have it tomorrow. -
As mentioned above, you will need to do a factory amp bypass. The tool that SilverPath linked to is very very helpful. I would add bepatient and work slow removing the door panel so you dont damage the clips or door card.

IMHO if you dont have PB blaster in your tool box/tool cabnet, you are just wrong. I feel so strongly about this that it may not be opinion, it borders on fact.

Tony, if you have them around where you live, Carquest has an electrical connector catalouge. It is about the size of an old school yellowpages phone book. You can match the connectors up in that book and order some.

Do i need the Evap canister to pass emissions?
Alkorahil replied to ferrariowner123's topic in The Garage
I actualy had that with a vehicle. They had put black electrical tape over the CEL so you could not tell if it was on or not. It was very clever and impossible to tell from looking at it. -
Bring it over to my house this weekend and we will figure it out and fix it. Seriously I would do as many others have noted. Nissans do idle high at start. Check the vacuum lines first. I always recomend just replacing them all given the age of the vehicle. It is just bulk hose you can get at any auto parts store and will cost you about $20 to replace them all. Replace the Engine Temp Sensor and PCV valve they can/will effect idle and probably need replacing. Get an old skool timing light and check your engine timing per the FSM proceedure.

If you 'Dukes of Hazzard style' jump your Pathfinder you may wish you had them! If you 'Dukes of Hazzard style' jump your Pathfinder you may need your head examined.

Nothing is more frustrating and infuriating than when the only person to blame is yourself. I have been there many times.

The canister will not effect MPG or what comes out the tailpipe. As stated above it will cause a CEL to come on however. In many states a CEL on is an auto-fail. -
Agreed. They dont do what they promise and the length is part of the issue. You would need a short ram intake to even begin to see anything. This is another one of those things that if they really did anything noticable for the small amount of $$ all the manufacturers would put them on vehicles.

All of the dash lights feed through the dimmer switch. Might take a look at that.
