Precise, about how long did it take to install? Did you use a lift or do it on the ground?

GRRRR SR20 swappers/modders. The KA24 is one of my favorite Nissan motors, the other being the VG30 and VG33, simple, elegant and reliable when maintained.

X4 You should not need to drop the pan, which is a good thing!
-
Defiantely a good move replacing that.
-
As said here many times, your Nissan likes NGK.

If you look at the wiring diagram, the ignition relay and accessory relay share a connection and the accessory relay goes to the meter relay. It is goofy but will cause the igntion relay to not work.

TXPower, my two cents.... There are plenty of decent running vehihcles on craiglsit in dallas for sale that will be running and inspected and in much better condition. IMHO It would cost way less to get one that way then hunt down trannys and wiring harmnesses and inteiror parts - and who knows what else from sitting up. Sell what you have or keep it for parts, and find a nicer one then start the build on that one. BTW, where are you at you said south dallas?

I will second that. The transfer cases are well designed and stout, so not many issues or problems reported. Here and there a leaking shaft seal. That chain thread is one of two major internal issues I can ever recall. The other being a transfercase run hard with no oil in it at all, which doesnt count as that not normal operating conditions.

Agreed. Also check your coolant level and radiator cap.
-
Agreed, be super-generous with the grease and you should not have issues for a very long time.

I take it these are aftermarket tie rods? There is a pre and post 94 model version and some of the aftermarket suppliers dont know the difference. We have had a few people before run into this problem where it wont seat properly.

All back together, won't start?

I was thinking along the same lines, like it is 180 degrees out of whack. I have done that one before and spent time scratching my head. I had to chastize myself after. -

I would be surprised if your vehicle passed emissions inspection without it. Without it working properly you should show high hydrocarbons at idle and low speeds in the exhaust with the tester-sniffer. In addition, any visual inspection (if done) would fail without the emissions equipment on the truck. -

Our techs always deflate the front tires or lift the rear up in the air a foot or so when doing this so that the air bleeder screw is higher

95 nissan pathfinder auto Trans kicked out of overdrive
Alkorahil replied to fearkobe's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That is very true it does! It is always good to let your vehicle warm up in the morning for at least a couple of minutes. 'jump in start it up and go' is not good long term for your poor truck! You should let it warm up if it has been below freezing outside overnight! -

Overfilling the transmission is as bad as underfilling it. to start with, it will make the torque converter unhappy. -
I am not a fan of plastic radiators or plastic anything - like intake manifolds. But as said the plastic radiators seem to last a fairly long time overall and with aluminum being $$ it adds up for the manufacturer. I have never seen a Nissan radiator blow apart at teh top (seen a honda blow a 1 inch square chuck out the top) but have seen the Nissan radiators get a hairline crack at the top, usually at the filler neck.

Remote Engine start is an option for the newer pathfinders and is also available as an accessory add on from Nissan.
