  1. Yep. I agree with the majority of the posts above this one. I have had a Haynes manual since I bought my 99.5 (roughly 10 years or so). The FSM beats it "hands down" and I haven't opened the Haynes since I discovered it.
  2. I see what you did there .. I can not get over how clean your e-brake (or under carriage for that matter) looks. The only time my cables ever gave me fits was the time I had so much mud caked up in my drums the cable would not "release". The pic does look rather uneven though. Have you put your hands on them to see if one of the lines feel loose?
  3. Sounds to me you have a ground issue somewhere. Unfortunately, I have a uni-body and can not attest to the body lift but, it seems like you have broken a ground some where in the engine area. Any one like to chime in?
  4. One would think that the similar price would be heavily off-set from the shipping stand point. Trucking them from Fla to Jersey should be much cheaper than from the southern hemisphere.
  5. I would lean towards a ground issue if the static is heard while using anything electrical (power window, wipers, engine acceleration, etc.)
  6. It really isn't that hard to do. In fact, I replaced my passenger side because it was leaking pretty bad but, I still have to replace the drivers side. I live in Rock Hill .. maybe we could get together and change both of yours and I can finally tackle my drivers side gasket. I'd be more than willing to help you out.
  7. Warn hubs are the "best" but, if I were to do "it" "again" ... I'd just spring for the MM's. They have the same advantages over stock drive flanges as the higher priced Warn hubs. I'm just finding out that the fact that I can place quotation marks around certain words that make me feel better about paying more for what I "went" with.
  8. I'll side with that bet myself. It is amazing what will get "sucked up" in there. I park under a tree and have pulled all sorts of crap out of my Pathy and my *hot rod* (Miata)
  9. Exact same hitch I installed on mine! Very easy install.
  10. No kidding? Wow! I'm still arm wrestling with my wife's Prelude. I did not know going into that timing issue that there are actually two belts in the timing chamber on those cars. One is the timing belt, the other "balance shaft" belt drives the oil pump.
  11. Honda and Toyota are going the same direction. They are all becoming indistinguishable common "boxes" (using your words .. I like!) in my opinion. I'm starting to find myself more partial to Ford's direction of branding. Yikes!
  12. I don't think that the crank pulley can be installed incorrectly as it has to line up with the key way ... Your statement is "spot on".
  13. Turn the motor over until the #1 piston is at the height of it's upward (compression) stroke.
  14. I believe his handle is "Alkorahil".
  15. I have the AC 2" lift springs all the way around plus the 1" strut spacers (total of 3" in the front to level the "rake"). I was unaware of 2" strut spacers.
  16. I'd just stick to the door panels. You should have plenty of carpet padding around the wheel wells and floorboard. That is all I used to cover when I was into the big sound systems. IIRC, they sell kits that are made for just the doors?
  17. His insurance will give you a check. You should be able to source some parts pretty cheap at a local j/y.
  18. You are ready as in the "hardware" is concerned. The first time on the trails, take it easy. Just keep the RPM's low and let the torque get you over the rocks. From your description, you basically have the same set up as I do. I've been through thick mud (please, don't go through thick mud) and over some "hairy rocks" in my 99.5. Post some pics already!
  19. Dumb ass question but, is there plenty of fuel in the tank? Also, check to see if your fuel filter has ever been replaced.
