Can you even get OEM fan clutches for these anymore? My local dealer didn't want to put in the effort to locate stock so I just bought one at NAPA... Hasn't blown up or overheated so far.

Found out I have a bad #4 injector on the 95... Of course it's one of the under the plenum ones. Guess I shouldn't have not driven it for 2 years.

This hose bit me too years ago with my first wd21. I put a zip tie on it which helped it from slipping off when "servicing" things back there. I've got big hands so it doesn't take much to knock things loose.

Sweet! I'm clearly not as tall as you (only 6' exactly) but can confirm the rear hatch is heavy as hell. Had it fall on me once. I bet you could clearance them easily with a small bit on a die grinder or dremel

Glad to hear it. I remember when my dad had his 93 pathfinder (when I was in high school) the rear tires would rub if you had a couple passengers in the back and went over a big dip in the road or some train tracks, lol.

I recall the last time I changed my hatch struts that it required me to remove the ball/stud they sit on from the tailgate and truck body, and replace them with slightly different ones that were more universal, there's clips that hold it onto the strut now. I was actually just at a store (princess auto in canada) like harbour freight. And they had all sorts of different lengths. So perhaps that would be a good route to go? Otherwise I bet even replacing your springs with OE replacements would raise it up a good 3". Most are terribly sagged by now. Does yours rub the rear tires on large bumps/dips in the road?

Yeah... Seems like normal parts for tune ups, brakes, etc are easy to get but god forbid you want your parking brake to work. You can't even get the parts for the rear disk parking brake setup anymore.

Most people who buy these aren't driving them anyway. They're garage queens for collectors. Destined to live a sad life of starting up once a year to move it around.

I believe most people just weld some metal tabs and use studs with big wingnuts to hold it on (and a lock if you leave it there). Not sure if these are still made but another option:

I'm not trying to be an ass but the Nissan community has really done it to themselves. Almost at the point I'm considering going Toyota if I have to buy another rig.

Sometimes it's just easier to buy something pre made, with a warranty, that I don't have to worry about grinding, ensuring all the welds don't rust and that it's square (Not that doesn't happen with pre fab either). Built vs bought has it's place but the majority of Nissan owners are cheapskates. Though I will say it is far worse with the first gen xterra groups. Every time someone tries to pitch a product they get torn apart by the "I can build it myself for less" crowd, and there you have it, no aftermarket.

There's this post on clubxterra, of course no source but it falls in line with what I've heard over the years: https://www.clubxterra.org/threads/super-packing-lsd-dif.34223/post-467172 I will say even though my 02 X is supposed to have one of the "good ones" it doesn't compare to the one my 95 pathfinder has (it is basically like locked rear end in the snow and wet weather). -
It did happen to the pathfinders for sure. My grandparents neighbour had an 08 and we had to do the timing set on it, and it had around 80,000km on it. My father has a 2012 X that he bought new had had to have the timing chain and guides replaced on it at 180,000km... The timing belt on his old 2000 r50 lasted longer haha.

I've taken enough of them out of JY trucks over the years that I don't worry about having to find them anymore. Always keep a set in the toolkit in the back. OPs idea is good though, perhaps there's another way or another fuse type that would be a slow blow. Can you get slow blow blade fuses? 4.90 only came in 03-04 Automatic non supercharged models IIRC. -

OME struts are good quality. I installed a set on my parents 2000 and they worked well until they traded it in 5 or 6 years later. Old man emu is also ARB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
