  1. That Trail D is very much what I had been thinking about. That’s a really a great concept. I got to have to look at that compressor as well. Thanks for your replies everyone.
  2. Tried searching for this with no luck. Now that I have a spare tire carrier mounted on the back of my R50 there is now this huge space underneath that is empty. Even has a little chain hoist in it. What, if anything are people doing with this? I’m thinking I would love to be able to put another 10 gallons of fuel somewhere and I’m wondering if this might work and if so, how to do, it. Or maybe a place to store my tools and stuff I don’t use often. What are peoples thoughts? If this has been covered before, I’d really appreciate it if somebody would point me towards the discussion.
  3. Dan, how often do you come across an R 50 spare tire rack and how much do you charge for them, assuming local pick up in Henderson or thereabouts? I thought I had found one here in Tucson, but the vehicle was mislabeled and it didn’t fit.  I was new to Pathfinders at the time and didn’t fully appreciate the difference between the R50 and its predecessor.

  4. Chris, to complete my spare tire hanger project. I need to find a license plate holder. I haven’t found any here in Tucson. Do you ever come across those? It’s so I billet be very interested.  For a 2002 pathfinder

I haven't seen one since I scored my last tire carrier, but I can keep an eye out for you should one turn up.

Please do that. In the interim, I can always use a simple, generic license plate holder with the light, but in the sun, one would look much much better.

  5. I really hit the jackpot at my first visit to Pull– N–Save in Tucson.  And not only did I find a new clock for my dash and the egg crate grill that I much prefer, but I found not only one but two tires racks. One was a bit rusty, but the other one appeared to be working great. It was a little bit of a PIA to get off, mostly because I couldn’t open the gate all the way, because of another car just behind it so one of the bolts was a little tough to access. Little patience paid off. Never would’ve thought of this source if it hadn’t been for your videos. Thanks a million,

    Scot

PS – they only charged me $36 for the entire rack assembly, including all the bolts, latches, and the gate closed switch.  That seemed incredibly cheap to me but I wasn’t going to argue

I'm glad you were able to locate a tire carrier at your local Pull-N-Save. There's nothing like scoring at the junkyard for the first time, and you were able to source a few other parts too that's awesome. It's worth the work for sure. Welcome to the party👨🏾‍🔧

      Chris.

  6. Chris, do you come across the tire racks frequently? I would love to put one onto my 2002 LE. I’ve watched a bunch of videos and read all the posts here on doing it. The last one I watched was on a 2003 I think and he only used rivnuts was no additional gusseting. However I think I would feel better at least putting some sort of backing plate on it. Anyway, how much do you charge for them with a local pick up? I’m all over Arizona and still passing through Kingman fairly frequently and a  jog up to your neck of the woods wouldn’t be much trouble.  I’m going to be in Tucson next week and then I’m going to do my first time checking out one of the pick-a-part type yards. Maybe I’ll be real lucky and they will have one. I just got this Pathy, and it was pretty much perfect, except for a broken bezel around the clock so that’s my primary search.  PS – I’ve been loving your videos on YouTube. And sorry for being so wordy.

  7. I removed the rear driver’s side (US) panel to connect a trailer light connector and found things I hadn’t expected. First, there was a Bose amplifier even though the factory installed radio was not Bose (still had the factory sticker on it). Second, there were four unused connectors that I have no idea what are for. In the photo there are the two blue ones, a round din(?) one, and the white one near the floor. I looked through the electrical section in the FSM with no luck. Can anyone tell me?
  8. I’m new here and I’m about to do this to my 2002 Pathy. This thread has been extremely helpful. However, one thing I can’t figure out is one of you set all the torque settings and parts explosions is in the the “FSM“. What is that, it sounds like a service manual but I can’t figure out what the F stands for. Thanks in advance.
