Maybe it's just me, but they don't look blue at all? Looks great.

If it is a loose flex plate bolt, next time use loctite on the bolts.

You can get a new chrome one on ebay for like 60-100 bucks.
-
If you can get an OE Nissan one, go that route. The after-market ones always seem to be * * * *.

These engines are actually fantastic. It looks like you just got a couple of really poorly maintained ones. glad it is running well though. I'm about to dig into my VG33ER out of my Xterra that was eating a quart of oil every 150 miles!

Just drain the fluid into a clean container so you can reuse it.
-
Wheeled it for the last 4 weeks. Awesome time. Ordered Doug thorley headers as my exhaust is original on the 95 and getting crusty.

Issue with HAM is you need to be licensed. Not hard to get it but still. For me as a casual off-roader before it was not worth it. I'm in the process now as I'm starting to do more long distance and remote trips. I have had the same uniden pro520XL radio for the past 12 years and it still works great.

If you haven't downloaded your FSMs, better do it soon...

I'm downloading them all to my server. Will post a link when I figure out how to secure it. -
Which Light Bar to Choose and How to Install it?
adamzan replied to AlabamaDan's topic in General Forums
I have one I got off craigslist. It was 100 bucks. 42" Works fine for me. -
My Xterra ran at 70 but burnt a @!*% ton of oil... I'd bet if your timing isn't off your rings are worn out.
-
I adjusted mine on my old 95 with the help of Mr. 510 when I was out west years ago. We turned the wheels one turn (don't think the direction mattered). Then tightened the screw in 1/8 turns, then test driving afterwards till it felt good. I never did the adjustment on my 94 but it has tons of slop lol. Having a body lift makes it way easier.

Glad it's running well. You should never have to shim a starter on one of these. So something is still off there. Just an FYI.

FYI, if the lifters are a little ticky for the first bit, let them pump up.

2002 Pathfinder...the long road to recovery (build)
adamzan replied to system_f's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
My parents r50 had a black engine bay as well, but the truck was silver. I was told by nissan a long time ago they were all like that. Even my Xterra has a greyish coloured engine bay. Guess they cheaped out in the later years? -
I'd throw a new water pump on there.
-
It will be stiffer to turn if you’re just sitting there. That’s kind of normal. It doesn’t steer like my stock 95. But that’s the trade off for not having it wear out every month.
-
Nice. Just ordered a set... Would be nice if I could find some for the rears though.
-
So at least you can drive it now?
-
If you have a gasket all you need is that. Some kits come with small tubes of silicone to make a gasket. Don't use both.
-
Just tried it on mine. I feel something there for sure.

Good lord. My motor with 450k km on it had nearly nothing on the screen. One flake of something and nothin' else FWIW here is my 95's head, the motor has about 100k km on it (was a JDM import motor)
-
Maybe bad intake manifold gaskets? The oem ones are beasty metal things. The aftermarket ones I put in felt cheap.

I'm getting anywhere from 20-23~ on the highway. It's a 5 speed manual with a full tune up. Replacing the o2 sensor made a decent difference. Other than that I've always been able to squeeze that kind of mileage out of my pathys. City mileage is meh. I will when I get the rest off my camera! Sweet, I'm on Vancouver Island right now... Took a whole day and made it up to Tofino. Had a great dinner at Shelter Restaurant. Damn I need to clean this thing lol.

Annoying jolt when accelerating moderately past 2000rpm
