By all means go for it. It would be good to know that it is an option!

It might not work. It’s the 01-04 Xterra trans you need.
-
It’s the same job. Believe me I’ve done like 12 of them, probably more. On pathfinders, xterras, etc. And redpath is right, it’s 100k on the 94 and up.

If you put manual hubs on, the wear to the CV shafts is limited to off roading only. It may devalue the truck, but it's 15 years old, how much is it really worth anyway? In my experience it does wear parts out quicker, but only marginally, and if you buy oem or good quality parts it isn't an issue. So no 20 dollar autozone ball joints or whatever lol. I've never broken a CV ever. I've had a defective one break but that's it. Don't get super throttle happy on climbs and you won't have any problems with them.

Where is the Rear wiper switch 1994 SE
adamzan replied to msavides's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
It's the same fuse the power mirrors run off of I believe. Should be a 10 or 15A can't remember. Maybe some idiot put a larger fuse in because it kept popping. -
I’m tempted to order a rear bumper for my wd21 from Wam... Will see how it goes and let you know haha.

Neither the 3.3L or the VQ40 are known to be oil burners. The VG33 is just a bigger version of what was in your wd21. Personally if you go first gen X I’d go with a supercharged model. Yeah it requires premium but it has 40 more hp and 46 ft lbs more torque. Mine seems to get the same mileage as the modded 2nd guys. Both fairly simple to work on, the 2nd gen has the ability to Titan swap the front end which is cool. I’ve worked on a few and they seem well built. I love my first gen but that’s because I prefer the simplicity of it and it pretty much is just a revised wd21 with leaf springs. I drove it to work every day till I bought new winters for my VW.

You should get a small car to keep the mileage off of your trucks!

Pics?

Check the injector harness for rodent damage or chafing.

Mine has been missing the clip for years lol..

Water pump went... early! what else todo.

Reset all the timing back to what it should be. You may have gotten lucky. I know several people who've broke timing belts on VG33Es and have had it run fine afterwards. It may not actually be as interference as Nissan says it is. Same with the vg33e xterra. -
This is why oil spraying works wonders...

My parents have a maxima with the CVT. I don't like it at all. My neighbor has a 2016 pathfinder and he let me take it for a ride. I didn't like it that much. I actually prefer the truck like ride my Xterra/Pathy have.

That looks exactly like another fuel injector plug. Is it just sitting there or ?

I don't remember my parents 00 having one either. But then again its been like 7 years. I would only use bosch or oem waterpumps from now on. I also had a gates one fail prematurely. -
It is known on the VQ pathfinders when the IAC fails it can take out the ECU. I've seen it a few times and a couple members here have had it happen.

Just get another tire carrier from the wreckers.
-
Sounds like universal joints in the drive shaft are binding. Mine did this as well.

1994 SE factory alarm system questions
adamzan replied to msavides's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I hate that but it is the territory of used vehicles. You get people like us who do things right, and people like them who just want it good enough to get to work the next day. -
I don't think you have to pull the whole thing, probably just the lower parts around the steering, and the glove box, and the radio.
-
Slart if you want to trade I'll send you a fully working perfect condition manual setup...

When you pulled the distributor cap off was there any reddish/brown/gold dust or flakes? VG33 are known for the distributors failing. When it went on my roommates frontier it would idle, but stall out with any application of throttle. If you’re sure the timing is right id start there. You would only need to pull the top cover anyway. Line up the balancer first mark with the arrow on the cover, that’s TDC. Then the upper marks should be lined up.

Nice. I need to do this on my "new" 95. Forgot how ****** the lights were lol.

Depending on the cleaner you used, you may have damaged the coating on the throttle body.
