Replaced passengers side fuel injectors on the 95. Will do the drivers side next weekend. Had one bad one but now it runs so much better. Like when I first dropped the motor in.
-
It's probably just the connection. Check the harness. I bet they didn't tie it back up properly.
-
Damn. I have an 02 X trans/tcase in mine. I guess it's weaker, but the old tcase would feel "loose" in 4wd low if that means anything.
-
I'm not sure but be prepared if it happens again. I have a long pair of needle nose pliers in the truck just in case. I tried to get a zip tie on the end of it once. No dice.
-
Oddly enough, I've seen VG33 break belts and not bend valves on more than one occasion. But the 3.0 I know you can't get away from that. I bet that is OP's problem. Slightly bent valves.
-
That happened to mine as well. It fell off a few times. The ****** thing for me is it always got stuck on full heat in the middle of summer haha.
-
The only one is the VG33 or VG30e in the quest/villager as ford had it that way.

I know that the Xterra guys will use JY Wd21 or r50 pans as they don't rust out like the WD22 ones. So I would assume it would fit. Are you not removing the front diff when replacing the engine? I couldn't get my engine out without doing that...

If you haven't downloaded your FSMs, better do it soon...

I understand with the newer cars, but why not let them host the old ones. Like 2005 and prior or something. -
how to tell if I need black dot or blue dot injectors
adamzan replied to windwizard's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
You cant. You have to remove the connector on an injector and the dot will be there. I just went through this on the weekend actually . -
Its weird, mine are nice and bright. Perhaps youve got a ground issue somewhere. The wires are small but more than enough to power 1157 bulbs.
-
Interesting. I've never had a problem with mine, maybe because I have one of the ones that plugs in to the tail light connector (which then plugs into the tail light)? I assume you don't have a brake controller in yours though?

Is this another troll post like last time haha
-
That's what happens when the first owners do no maintenance. Which is like everyone, lol.

I replaced my tranny in 2013 with an Xterra one. Not worried there haha. I would just hate to break down in the middle of nowhere, but I guess that's the chance you take. I've had this rig for almost 10 years now.
-
Yeah, I got mine from the original owners, it is from out in BC somewhere, near Vancouver. I've driven a pathy across the country twice actually. It always went smoothly but this time I'm taking the one I can wheel. I had the oil pan off last summer and all appeared fine in there, nothing lose or any chunks of metal laying around.

Hmm I don't notice any ticking ever. It used to tick when it was really cold out (-20), and I used castrol conventional. Once I switched to a synthetic it never made another peep. I have had this truck since 120k miles. I am planning a cross country road trip and wanted to take the pathfinder to do some west coast wheeling. But such a high mileage engine makes me nervous. Do you use regular or synthetic oil? Do you have an oil filter relocation? I installed one and now it takes almost 5 quarts to fill.
-
I have 270,000 miles (450,000km) and still run the factory spec 5w30. Perhaps I should watch out for that? I mainly drive it in the summer here anyway. How loud is the ticking?
-
Yeah makes sense. I find most shops dont do it properly on these trucks anyway, so I just learned how on my own with help from people here.
-
The IAT sensor sits in the intake tube before the air filter housing.
-
If it's running fine, and the timing belt has been done recently, roll on brother.
-
I always use NGK V-power or ac delco (the normal ones). Depending on what's available. Iridium plugs in anything that doesn't come stock with it is just wasting money. I use OEM wires because all the aftermarket ones seem to be @!*%.
-
They weren't that expensive. I think it was about 600 including shipping. You pay that much for 2 struts on most cars anyway... I had replaced all 4 with monroe sensatrac and they are mush. Did you over tighten the bolts? Precise1 had that issue and so did I. I backed them off to the next hole in the castle nut and it has been fine. I still fine it is a bitch to turn when the tires aren't rolling though. And I have never sent mine in for an alignment, just did it myself in the driveway.
-
Yeah, I can easily get 24mpg in my stock 95. Last year my brother and I drove it from Ontario Canada all the way to the west coast and back. It was averaging 20-25mpg the whole time. Ran flawlessly.

95 D21 Automatic, O/D doesnt work
adamzan replied to Sbrowning0723's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Does it have issues starting in Park or Neutral? Mine had an issue with the range sensor (neutral safety switch) and the truck always thought it was in park, and would only shift up to 3rd as well.
