It is a heavy duty filter. I have not installed it into my truck yet. Haven't had time. My dads friend is a hydraulics engineer and he takes apart transmissions for fun. He gave me that and said my transmission will never die.

Nissan IFS parts are so damn expensive. I'm willing to bet that my steering is going to implode again after this years adventure weekend. The next CL I get will be a hoohaa one. I should let you know that once you start replacing steering parts that other ones will quickly go bad. At least this was my experience.

The centerlink tie rods and ball joints are probably shot. I had to change every single one to make my steering feel decent again. You should check each component first though. I just poured money into it.

What tools, equipment and workwear do you use ?
adamzan replied to GoPathyGo's topic in General Forums
You can basically strip an entire wd21 with those tools You guys listed what I have and more. I do have a good pair of channel lock snap ring pliers though. They have 5 different ends you can put on and they can do both kinds of snap rings (ones that compress or expand) Cost me about 30 bucks a princess auto and I've used them countless times. Definitely worth it. I also have a set of TASK Extractors, which are amazing. I never actually used them yet but I loaned them to magregor so he could change his exhaust studs on his pathy and he said they were awesome. You burnish the broken bolt/screw with one end and extract with the other. They were 20 bucks and there are only 2 of them but they seem to be of high quality. I used to have a complete set of wrenches and sockets but my brother and his friend came in one day and half of it disappeared and I never saw any of it again -
Well this post by simon seems to contradict that. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?s=&...st&p=384786 The 95's have a beefed up LSD.
-
I used gasket sealer on the water pump gasket. It was the blue rtv stuff. I was told by slick to do it, and well all know how intimate with a pathy she has been! It's been a year now since I've done the job and there are no leaks or funky smells/noises.

The wd21's LSD breakaway torque is ridiculous, over 200 ftlbs I think, especially if you're not used to it in the winter.

Rust worth repairing? & Death Wobble question
adamzan replied to ChaosSaint's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Mike is right. A lot of long nights under that truck -
And please don't go for those "go green scrap your favorite vehicle because it's killing the environment" programs. I've been pressured by my family to go for cash for clunkers, but I just couldn't let my baby get crushed.

Radio Brand Model Recomendations + remove ashtray?
adamzan replied to GreyAliens's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Yeah when I put my Xplod in the beep scared the crap out of me. Good thing it can be disabled. I'm running through the factory amps. Only reason is because I like the tweeters and do not like the idea of rewiring the whole truck. -
I've seen, and own one that is worse. It can be fixed. I'd hate to see you junk it just because it needs work. It looks like there is still good metal at the top there. Find a buddy with a welder and get to it!

Front Ball-Joint replacement question...
adamzan replied to ascdesigns's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
When I changed the ball joints on my fathers r50 there was no way that sucker was coming out unless I moved the CV back. Getting that dust cap off was a PITA too. And you have to get a new one when you take the old one off. That is what the FSM says, anyhow. -
Get a big one like me

Rust worth repairing? & Death Wobble question
adamzan replied to ChaosSaint's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I'm going to try an experiment this winter. I used that spray rust converter on a surface spot on the fender, and the rust didn't get worse at all over the winter. I'll try to coat the inside of the frame as best I can and then wait till the stuff dries, then lace it with the oil spray stuff. Couldn't hurt. -
It's Nissanmatic C I believe.
-
Mine did, you'll also need a puller to get the pulley off. I rented one and actually didn't need it, the pulley just came off by hand. But if I hadn't gotten one, I would've needed it! Oh yeah, when I did my timing belt and all that stuff it was under the watchful eye of my grandfather, he made sure I lost nothing!
-
It is a 27mm socket. I had to buy one too!
-
I don't like the look of the KMA one for the 96-99 r50. The front sticks out too far.
-
Well technically the diff and Tcase should fit, But you'd have to get a 4wd trans.
-
Oh dear god, did we really need another one of those (like Derek and his Cheetos)

The chromie also came with 215s factory. I've seen in person. OSR, look in your glove box, I bet it lists the tire pressures for your 235s and 215s
