  1. Got the cleaner and going to give it a go today.
  2. There refrigerants and both are ozone depleting gases, just not as much as freon. But believe me 134a will be obsolete in a short time also, they keep finding safer and safer refrigerants. The goverment takes this very seriously ! To answer question it should be labled what refriderant is in there and also the fittings are different for each refrigerant. Although having to add refriderant is not a good sign don't be surprised if it doesn't hold a charge, mine didn't. Also don't forget to put in refridgerant oil also because if you just add refriderant it's going to burn out the compressor.
  3. One problem with the temp gauge is there is no actual numbers on the gauge so we really don't even know what temp it's at when the needle is in the half way position. I have sat in 100 degree temps on a traffic riddled NYC streets and it didn't budge past 1/4 of the gauge. It's a factory T-stat and maybe am just lucky but I would say past the half way point is not good. With these aluminum blocks you really have to be careful with overheating and also change your anti freeze regularly as it will become acidic after all while and eat away at the block.
  4. Hmmm I thought the Pathfinder had a excellent turning radius.
  5. What would be a GOOD fuel injector cleaner there are so many of them on the market?
  6. Good to hear no more squeal. usually a loose belt will make a squealing noise. In my industry some of the larger fan motors wiil squeal the belt because of all the torque and when you said the belts were tight it lead me to believe maybe there were TO tight. anyway glad it worked out.
  7. Hmm I wonder if you can use spray in bedliner on the external tire carrier.
  8. I know this is extreme but I the same problem years ago with a Pontiac and after 3 mechanics changed every sensor possible I took it to the dealer and low and behold it was the "computer" that was no good. Good thing for me it was still under warranty. Point being mechanics like to just start replacing sensors and hope it works.
  9. I just changed ALL my belts and no squeeling like a pig. Honestly your belts might be to tight and the torque is making it squeal. You say when the belt gets hot and expands it doesn't squeal.
  10. Hmmm, a steering wheel cover may be in order
  11. Is that what the 95 XE has a 15 gal. tank? I thought it was a 18 gal. tank
  12. I think I may be in trouble, I filled it up last week and reset the tripometer and with a 1/4 tank left it says 120 miles, of course this was ALL city driving but that is horrible. I must have a 18 gal. tank.
  13. The last time I put fluid in the rear diff the idiots at jiffy lube blew out my seals.
  14. Good thread and intresting. The previous owner which is a co worker of mine always ran 92 octane in it so I continued to do the same. I haven't put in 87 octane of fear it may start pinging. What you say about unburned fuel may be true because i do get a small smell of fuel around my truck and nothing is leaking. I'm almost at empty and going to give the 87 a try but I really hope it doesn't start pinging.
  15. Yes I just now found it, my apologizes
  16. Anyone have any success with a specific shampoo product. My seats and carpet could use a good shampoo. I would just put car seats covers on but they never fit snug, they always start to droop making them look crappy.
  17. I been spraying it like crazy, it's gotten much better, you had to see all the brown rust liquid that poured out of it.
  18. So I took out the whole reservoir and low and behold there was the leaking pump. New one at the dealer cost $38 ouch! Anyway nice to have washer fluid again, thanks for your help.
  19. I have a 95 XE and keyless entry as you described it. The only weird thing about mine is the panic button on the factory remote is what controls the locking and unlocking, the other button does nothing. I actually don't even like the idea if I push down on one button all the doors lock. Another weird thing is there is a aftermarket alarm on it also which is disabled.
  20. Isn't that the truth.................
  21. Could be to much torque..............
  22. Thanks Slick! No wonder I wasn't seeing it at first, so is the motor and pump one piece or two seperate pieces?
  23. The A/c is got to be the most PITA thing to repair because it takes forever to find the problem. Most mechanics will put dye in the system to find a leak, if it's indeed a leak. Yes it could be the compressor, or O rings. I gave up on my AC but i could living in NY, we only get 2 months of HOT weather.
  24. I take it it's easier to just replace the whole reservoir.
  25. Where the hell is the front windshield washer pump? It's had really week pressure and now it's stop working all together.
