  1. The element inside the filter drier does corrode and clog up at the TEV. It happened to my truck.
  2. Well the trip to Arizona is back on.....2400 miles...should be leaving either Friday or Saturday as am watching the weather reports....
  3. Part of a R134 conversion is pulling a 29 inch vacuum and holding that vacuum to ensure no leaks. This also in turn removes ALL the R 12 and it's oil. The fact that it's overcharged ( increasing your high side pressures) don't be surprised if the inside of the filter drier blew out and is blocking the expansion valve.
  4. Until you put some gauges on it you can guess all you want.
  5. I just went ahead and replaced the whole axle ......
  6. My 95 XE has a fair amount of play in the steering also...I read in one post to replace the front and rear sway bar end link bushings. I haven't tried it so I don't know if that would help tighten up the steering.
  7. That's a cv boot ........I just replaced one myself...
  8. What bolts on our pathy's isn't rusted shut....
  9. Well due to my job I had to go back to NY instead of Arizona. I was really impressed with the pathy though, the first 11 hours I was going 85 to 90 mph, it didn't hiccup once. The other 11 hours I backed her down to 75-80 mph. By the time I hit NJ I was driving in a dam ice storm. I must say the pathy is a solid vehicle and has gained my confidence.
  10. You described my problem perfectly ...I always hated the steering at highway speeds. I looked at some of the bushings and they do look all dried up and warped. I wouldn't of thought bad bushings would create this.
  11. In all the tranny cooler posts I've read never once heard of anyone having problems because the tranny fluid was to cold. Mine is right in front of the radiator and we had some bone chilling temps when I left out of NY and I didn't have any problems.
  12. If I was a betting man I would go with what was mentioned the little shelf on top of the oil pan after a oil change. It has seemed to have stopped. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  13. AC is fixed replaced expansion valve, condenser, and filter drier. Now nice cold air... So I should be heading out this weekend.
  14. I have looked and looked and can't figure where this oil leak is coming from. If the truck is running no leak but if I turn it off and let it sit for the night there will be one small drop of fresh oil on the ground. It's not coming from the valve covers or the oil filter. Obliviously it's got to be something with the metal contracting when it cools down? Any clues?
  15. Mesa, Tempe......The AC is being worked on today dam filter drier corroded out. So by the end of the week I should be on the road.....
  16. If your frame looks like that am really surprised the brake and fuel lines haven't rusted through....
  17. Well trip to AZ is going to be delayed for a couple of days. Gonna get the AC fixed before heading into that desert.....
  18. Well I think I lost my mind, now on Monday am going to drive the Pathy from Florida to Arizona. 2300 miles......Wish me luck.....
  19. That particular CB you have can be tuned and peaked alot.....which will help you pull in better signals. Of course you must also have a good antenna and properly grounded. Trust me that CB you have is stellar, just have it tweaked a little bit...
  20. I added a external speaker mounted on the A pillar..it's right next to my ear so I can still have the radio blasting and hear the CB for any smokey reports.
  21. I would of put the CB in the little cubby hole below the radio.....But here's a pic of my antenna, I made use of the access panel in the rear hatch area and drilled two small holes for the mount which I got from firestik.
  22. Late to the party but that's a good CB you have I got the same one but I had mine peaked and tuned and it makes a big difference. If you do end up drilling into any sheet metal use some sort of brace as the pathfinder metal is very thin and it will start to bend.
  23. Hi Jim ....worry about your health then the web site..88 has being doing a great job in your absence....
