  1. LOL Thanks for the poll, some mixed results.
  2. Yes servicing the AC, the door switch I did myself and at those prices I will be doing more myself. I believe a 12oz can is $20 at a retail auto parts store.
  3. Then you have a short circuit, the voltage is not making it's complete cycle. In other words you have stray voltage, check the speakers circuit.
  4. The problem with trying to guess what kind of life span you might get with a 05 Pathfinder is there aren't to many 05 Pathfinders out there that have 200,000 on it to judge by. This is a good poll that might help........http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?&act=ST&f=6&t=1987&mode=show&st= So by looking at this poll it's safe to say a 90-95 has a good chance of reaching 200,000 miles.
  5. OK! has anyone actually achieved a longer life span with a cooler installed. In other words is putting a cooler in really worth it. I know everyone says put one in, but is there actually "proof" that it extends the life of your tranny. I was hoping to hear someone say "after putting a cooler on my tranny it lasted 200,000 miles." I did not find any threads offering real life experiences. On a side note being actively involved in about 12 different internet forums this one takes the cake with the "SEARCH" replies. Isn't it easier to just ignore a thread then pulling out the SEARCH card. Sheesh!
  6. My apologizes< I did read a bunch of tranny cooler threads but there is scattered information everywhere. Some of the threads were kinda old so any NEW info would be great.
  7. For those with external tranny coolers I was wondering how many miles do you have on your transmission? Also where did you mount the cooler? I figured while am doing the timing belt I might as well do the cooler.
  8. You don't need plastic screws, just put electric tape around the hot connector. Those metal screws should not be touching any hot leads.
  9. I ended up letting the mechanic do it, $85 ouch. I should of just did it myself.
  10. Question in regards to this whole timing belt thing. ................Does Mistibushi make belts for Nissan's. Reason I ask is because my truck has a Mistubushi belt on it.
  11. Might I add that if your going to charge your system to NOT use those cheap can and hose together set ups. The fitting is plastic and is cheap.
  12. Those moldings are $48 a piece, my are shot also but they don't look like a easy remove and reinstall.
  13. Is there nuts on the back of those bolts or is it just the bolt. I was thinking about taking mine off. If you find those rubber plugs somewhere let us know.
  14. How many miles did you have on the belt that broke? I will have it changed ASAP, wondering if any mechanics in the NY area that wants to make some cash and tackle this, I don't have the time or proper tools to tackle this.
  15. Thanks! Is there a link for "How To" on that door switch? Yeah the A/C may need more but am a little paronoid of overcharging, does anyone no the exact weight of refridergate the 95 holds? I see the door switch and it's missing the rubber, the plastic switch itself is corroded.
  16. I didn't want to start another keyless entry thread so I'll piggy back this one and o thanks for everyone's help the last couple of days. I'm still trying to get used to my Pathy. Ok weird thing #1 My factory keyless remote only works with the round panic button, it opens and closes doors and sets alarm just fine. Here's the thing though If I open the doors with it and enter the DRIVERS door start the truck then turn the truck off, get out of the DRIVERS side door and try to use the remote to lock doors and set alarm it will NOT work. But If I walk over to the passenger side open the door then shut it the remote WILL work just fine. Also I notice the interior light only works with the passenger side door open and NOT the drivers side door. Now am assuming it's some sensor not reconizing the driver's door is open or close. I'm I right? Where might I find this sensor or what not? Second thing is a little off topic and entails charging with 134a which I bought a can today and began charging through the low side, mistake #1 was it fell off the charging port when I was shaking the can and liquid refrigerate leaked a little. Anyway I was able to continue charging and my gauges were reading about 30 psi but then I watched it drop back down to 0 psi. The compressor tried to kick on once but that was it. I'm assuming there is a bad leak or the freon is just that low and I should of just kept adding freon. Is it normal to go up to 30 psi and then drop back down to 0psi as it cycles through the system or am I out of luck? I appreciate any input as this is my first foreign truck and a little overwhelmed.
  17. NOT HAPPY! A/C will not hold a charge and compressor not kicking over at all. Dam! I get it to 35psi and then watch the gauge drop to 0psi :furious:
  18. Thanks I actually had a timing belt go on me one time in a Pontiac and it was a ugly ending. If I was to bring it to the dealer approximately how much would it cost to do?
  19. I did search and nothing really answered but I just bought a 95 pathfinder and the owner seemed clueless to if he had changed the timing belt so.......How do I find out if I need to change the timing belt? Thanks
  20. I'm like a little kid with a new toy am loving this thing. I discovered that none of the manifold studs are broken. (yet) ! The only thing that concerns me is it shifts kinda hard when cold. Not real hard but it's not overly smooth. I don't know if this is normal for pathfinders or what? But other then that it solid.
  21. Well it's officially mine...............
  22. Thanks alot it does sound straight forward.
  23. I read the article and I hope what he says is true as that will save me from having to install a external tranny cooler.
