Without starting another thread......... My frame is not rusting through, but there is a fair amount of rust so am wondering, without going crazy with it and seeing how the rust is making itself work from outside in if I was to just spray paint her undercarriage down would it buy me some time?

Lost Reverse, Changed AT Fluid, Reverse is back?!?

If you only bought it 2 months ago from a dealer I would bring it back there, it has to have at least a 90 day warranty. -

Just out of curosity was this vehicle used to tow. 90,000 miles and your tranny is going is kinda sad. I wouldn't blame you if you sold it. New tranny fluid and filter is not going to reverse the damage that was already done, it may buy you more time but I can't see it being a lot of time. The fact is the tranny's in these trucks suck and further suck if you do any towing with them. -
It's the area where it passes the rear springs, so you were pretty close, I believe it's the return line and therefore explaning why I still had good pressure on the tank.
-
Thanks guys, you just saved me some aggravation
-
The seal on my rear differential is leaking, what's entailed here, just drop the drive shaft? What I'm I to expect?
-
Well it's a corroded fuel line.....I plan on just cutting out the corroded area and putting a rubber hose with some clamps.
-
Stupid question but did the $500 include the parts? I'm about an hour away from Poughkeepsie.
-
Point taken...............

Thanks guys for the suggestions, I sprayed it down with febreeze today and I'll see what results I get from that. What's funny is the smell got stronger after I scrubbed them, maybe the bacteria odors were starting to lift out, may need a couple of scrubings.
-
I kinda hope it's not the fuel tank. I'm starting to loose patience with this truck, I didn't want to turn it into the money pit. It runs really good and the tranny is strong but am wondering if things are just gonna start going one by one. It's a northeast truck and am starting to wonder if I made a mistake.

Yep the guy could of been a real idiot and took full advantage to the fact that your on vacation. I guess your example is the reason why I just changed my water pump.

Is there a vapor line near the gas tank somewhere? I have this strong gas smell even without the motor running at the rear of my truck mainly at the passenger rear wheel well. even if you put your nose by the gas fill door you can smell this gas smell. I looked and everything is dry.

The thing with my rear seats is they are giving off a mildew like smell. I think someone put something very wet on the seats and there badly stained and giving off a funky smell even after scrubbing the **** out of them. I see two bottom rear seats at the junk yard for $50
-
Actually including parts it's a fair price, thing is am sure there aftermarket parts.
-
Dam! that one on ebay went for $1550

First off remove your cell phone number your asking for trouble. I do know of a 91 for sale but it's in NYC.
-
That is correct ................It is NOT a power antenna so I was just a little confused as to if the mast screwed in or not. I'm assuming it does but it broke off inside the base, I'll need to get it out with a screw extractor.
-
Of course I got the turtle wax one.
-
Yeah it's the two bottom back seats, someone must of laid something funky on there and it seems embedded into the fabric. I think I will just find two bottom rear seats at the JY.
-
Thanks it's a 95 and I will need to get the broken part out with a screw extractor. One thing I hate about all these rusted screws and bolts is everything snaps on me.
-
Was a little dissapointed in my results, it picked up a lot of surface dirt but there is some real stubborn stains still there.
-
I'm not understanding, mine has a cap and one screw holding the cap down but I thought you could just screw the MAST part out, it has two flat spots on it for like a wrench to fit on it. All I needed was the MAST part off. When I went to unscrew the MAST it snapped leaving part of the actually MAST still inside. So does the MAST just screw into that base? On a side note I still get good reception and it looks kinda cool almost like it's a power antenna.
-
Umm, the antenna mast does screw off doesn't it? because I went to screw mine off and..................it snapped off inside! I want to just make sure before I go and try to get the rest of the piece out.
