yea there should be that 1 bolt that redpath mentioned and I just took a thin flat head between the base of the tube and the block and tapped it in then just gently jiggled the tube and pulled and it came right out if you mess it up i my have an extra that I could ship for the cost of shipping

i dont even think its glued in I think its just an interference fit

there's a wire in the rear hatch that goes to the latch...after I did my swap my cargo lights were staying on all the time...i reached in there and moved that wire around and noticed the lights going on and off so i just unhooked it and no more door ajar light or cargo lights on...I really don't need the lights to come on in the cab when i open the hatch and i didnt feel like trying to adjust anything since the hatch closes better now than the 87 hatch ever did

yep all the nissan ones i've seen just pull out

yea infiniti is the same as nissan...write that down and keep it fresh in your mind b/c you may have some issues later on that will point to that same engine...glad you got it worked out

well if its like it used to be you can DL a lot of manuals in 24 hrs...its section by section but you can do a lot in 24 hrs...i was mad I pretty much had everything and thats EVERYTHING from 94-2006 until my HD died...so now all i have is 95 and an 87 hard copy

obviously the PO didnt have "control" of their dogs...that is one thing for me..my dog will listen to me...hell my buddies dog listens to me over him b/c he knows i'm not gonna put up with his games...Maggi knew better too...I don't belive in the alpha dog/pack theory but if you work with them and train them they will do as expected b/c they want to please you...

uhmm well parts will probably be like $300 depending on the clutch you get and all of that...labor on a job like this would probably be like $800+ if you have some good friends and the right tools (lots of extensions and a Ujoint, also a torque wrench) you could do the job in a weekend...I helped a guy do one in a parking lot and the tranny hoist was a strap through the floorboard while a guy on each side lifted up the tranny for the big mother that got under the truck to get the tranny in place and get the bolts started The job isnt difficult if you're mechanically inclined but there is a ton of stuff to remove and reinstall and the transmission is heavy...I've done about 5 transmission installs on a pathy by myself (and 1 on an SS camaro) and I've used 2 floor jacks with the assistance of an engine hoist every time to get it in there...this last time once I got it up the clutch disk and pilot bushing were not aligned correctly so i ended up under the tranny moving it in all directions to get the output shaft in the pilot bushing...glad it didnt fall on me b/c i woulda been effed

that would solve the problem of not knowing what it was...or throw whatever water pump on there that will align the belts and do the electric fan mod and not worry about if the fan is going to hit anything

not yet...I spent 3 days over there last week and they did a yardsale this weekend and he didnt want to mess with it...I heard he and his gf talking about taking it to a guy that would only charge them for parts...

I'd agree but either way if its a pathy engine or not the block is the same an the HB 2wd pump should work fine...I know the car WP wouldnt work with my pulley and would hit the TB cover...if the height of the pump is 1" longer but can install without the fan hitting the radiator or anything else and it allows the belts to line up with the crank pulley then you're golden

+1 b/c you're probably going to have to drop the diff anyways... yep...I got this down to a science...but I highly recommend a 3" (or 2") BL then getting to the bolts isnt an issue at all while your in there, do the RMS, rear cam seals, front cam seals, FMS One tip...when you put the oil pan back on...make sure the dipstick is pulled or you'll be pulling the pan back off to free up the dipstick

blue goop? slick are you drinking on you're new meds? thats just the rubber gasket...now it looks like he used some red RTV but its def not blue

looks good to me...you could have gotten to that 1 screw/bolt without removing the dizzy but its all good you got it figured out

yea nissan techinfo used to be "free" but they figured out folks were seeing it free and fixed their directories

the fuse on the hot lead from the + battery terminal is probably blown...replace it and i bet as soon as you hit the switch it blows again...i had to rewire mine...

He's in NZ is it RHD or LHD? I don't know enough about Terrano's to know and if it is RHD do they put the blower motor and everything on the LH side or is it still on the RH side...

the only coastal i've used is the tranny fluid for my power steering b/c it was the only Dextrol III compatible fluid they had...Since I was 16 I've only used castrol tho and never had problems...sorry that doesnt help much

pull hte pass side valve cover...if it shoots oil everywhere you've got oilpressure...no the best thing would be a no @!*% pressure guage to see wh at its putting out

unless it sat a long time dry and the oil pump wasnt primed...I Know a guy who went through 3 engines b/c of dried out pumps and not priming them... which is what i guess you meant by oil in them...there was oil in the pans but hadn't been circulated in a while
