did u ever check the timing belt? pull the top cover...it is quite possible to get enough fuel into a cylinder for it to "fire" but with no belt it wont catch up and run...the top cover is easy to pull and will at least let you know its still there...if its loose you may have jumped some teeth
-
check the timing belt....pull the top timing cover and if you dont see the belt it broke...put new belt with WP on and try it...if it doesnt run or runs like @!*% run a compression test to find out which cylinders need valves replaced or replace all valves...not a horrible job to do if you have the will to learn or skill to already complete the job

i'd say damn near 100% of cards that were put on my truck were pulled off and dropped to the ground (i hate littering but it was horrible how many things were placed on cars in the university parking lot) so i did it in hopes of them getting fined or something but I know we wouldnt be a mass spammer...I've told 4 people about the site and none seemed interested but I think a good "sales pitch" would be not just the offroading club but as well as "technical" support if you will I'm down for whatever although there are only like 2 pathy's in my town and one sits (the vet) and the other tows a trailer all over and they may be interested but I havent seen them around to talk to them... If anyone has the diecut file I'd like to see that posted b/c I want to get some sticker made for my truck and may try to do a run of a couple dozen and if they're half worth a crap maybe I can help 88 out some

good...but yea your tranny and all of that should work fine and u should have the heated seat plug in the floor and just need to get the switches...is a 92 MPFI and electronic speedo? if so then the dash may not be a big deal..mine was a big deal b/c i'm lazy and didnt want to try and figure out the parameters of the ECU my 87 has had 94 and 95 seats put in...none leather but the mouting tracks should all be the same..and who says you have to hook up the heated seats anyways?
-
the answer is yes...the amount of work may be beyond hte scope of what you want to do...search and read about my 87
-
Yea this was brought up some time ago and suggested that you put them on the wiper or right in the drivers side corner on the door/window which we pretty much agreed not to do b/c really who enjoy's having SPAM put on their vehicles even though it would be good SPAM but cards to hand out to folks on runs or if you saw someone getting into their pathy would be a cool idea

I bit the Dust HARD... Please help me
unccpathfinder replied to Nytrosfinder's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
better be finding a ride to pull a part every sat morning... pictures needed of the truck... you can cut/beat out the sheetmetal and rig up the radiator...thats about all you need...my dad nailed my truck one morning b4 the rents finally separated...he didnt have the balls to come tell me he hit my truck...I wish i had pictures of it but that was well before I had a camera of any kind...my mom came in and woke me up at 5:30 so yea i was pissed already...i went out and looked at the truck wanted to go kick my dads ass and then pulled off the grill, bumper and taped up all my lights luckly he didnt kill the fenders or hood but the front cross brace is still bent...i drove it for like 3 weeks and everyone at the HS gave me crap for it but who cares...after I got the $ saved up and fixed it (since my dad was supposed to pay me and never did) everyone wanted me to start doing things for their rides...which i laughed and never did b/c they were a buncha pricks...the folks i did help were friends and that was always done for nothing and to teach them and drink some beers no matter how hot or old heh...thems were the days if you decide to get rid of it let me know before you do...I've got a good friend in clt that i may be able to convince to buy it b/c he's been craving a pathy since he's known me and he just needs to get a truck heh... -
What’s the longest drive you have ever had in your Pathfinder ?
unccpathfinder replied to TheCrow's topic in General Forums
Carolina Beach NC to California City CA which is right at 2600 miles in the 95...i've made the drive from Charlotte, NC to Cal city in a 22' Penske towing the 87 pathy on a flatbed behind which was about 2300 miles I used to drive 700 miles a week in the 95 for over a year just to and from work (put over 50K miles on her in 1 year) between my 2 trucks I believe I have somewhere about 140k miles driving a pathy -
Dreaded manifold stud symptoms
unccpathfinder replied to joshellis's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
i wouldnt remove the engine...if you can't get accesss to the studs through the fenderwell stock install a 3" BL then that should give you plenty of working room...I have a video of removing a stud with the engine out of the truck tho somewhere in the garage section -
heh doh...i cant read and comprehend at the same time...that being said...my 95 never had a hitch and i didnt bang up the fuel tank...rockers rear bumper and the pumpkin got some abuse but not the tank....I think the only way you could get serious damage is if you dropped it on a spear rock but I think you would probably catch the RA or something else before the tank...its pretty well protected as far as approach angles and what not
-
heh funny you mention that...I just did my 3" BL and i am really loving the space between the frame/body that allows access to hard to reach places...I was actually thinking about keeping it in its stock location but taking my spare tank and adding about 3" of extra storage capacity but will involve modification to the fuel pump so it will pick up from the bottom of the tank...I figured a rough guess is about 7 more gallons of fuel I honestly don't think relocating is is worth the time/effort (but then again look at my project and how many people said its not worth the time and effort) b.c the skid is pretty donkey and if you have a hitch you really won't be able to drag much of the skid...if anything i'd say bulk up the skid b/c the relocation i think will be painful...but you could investigate a higher capacity plastic fuel tank
-
cool...yea no rush but was curious...it looks like you have about .5" on each side from the edge where the door closes and thats about what I have...i may use sealant or do a layup to make it cleaner (not that it would matter to anyone) but thats just me...I still think it will be a while befor the install but we'll see...I still have work to get it running...then lights for the bar...then the factory roof rack which I am going to try to get a welder and weld a basket for as well as sliders and 33's...i've still got lots of work...but one of my high priorities are removable sliders (i have a trick up my sleeve for this one so all of those who found drilling the frame was a PITA or impossible stay tuned over the next 2-3 months...

Hey Nunya...if its not too much trouble can I get a pic of the mounting? yours looks a lot like mine and just curious if it mounts the same (just the bolt pattern/composite detail. Also do you know what yours came off of or was it intended for the pathy? Thanks

MD is low rust option? that's a new one

my 95 was se...my 87 was xe...the only difference I knew was the 95 had all power locks/windows and what not but still had the MT and was open...the 87 was all manual and open...but the 95 had a sunroof...but pretty much all 3 are the same trucks they just had different options available...
-
probably more common...like i said this isnt for a nissan but it fits almost perfectly...it was for like a 2000 ford ranger...or I should say thats what my uncle was going to install it on...no telling where he got it...he sold the truck and it got totaled by the GI that bought it iwthin a month or so... now my uncle has a bad ass s10 with a 350 in it...it'll go 100 in no time I think we were still smoking the tires at 80...but he does all kinds of body work on them...not my style trucks bc he lowers them builds up the engines and hot rods them out...I think he's getting vette suspension under it soon and he's working on shaving the door handles now...but it was a fun little drive while I was back home...its def a sleeper
-
if i plan to wheel it......lets make that WHEN I wheel it Yea I was thinking that and is why I will use dome nuplates and would have a QD for the lights...but right now where I can go wheeling there are no branches to catch...
-
I was talking about my overhead console going away with a sunroof...but yea...I've got a decent idea of how to install the factory sunroof...it will involve cutting out one and trimming it nice and even bolting in supports then riveting the sunroof in and giving it more of a rugged look (in aircraft industry now so rivets look cool heh...but we'll see
-
yea that brkt is off of a sunroofed pathy so it should work with the non and if i later install the sunroof i'll make sure I position it far enough back if the stock location will cause interferanc but I don't think it would even in the stock location
-
Gas mileage is no longer a concern for me...this will primarily be for wheeling only...I'm either going to 32's or 33's... that being said I don't believe it would have any effect at all on mileage due to the frontal area remaining mostly the same but thats all in theory

Alright...figured I'd get $.02 from the peanut gallery... my uncle years ago (probably about 6) gave me a "moon roof" to put on my 87 but I didnt thnk it looked right on a stock truck...but now that the truck is lifted I think it would look better so today I mocked it up on the 95 bc i wasnt sure how sturdy it would be in the wind and what not on the road so i bolted it up and was impressed...if I install it I would like to run some small LED marker lights up top either 4 or 5 depending on their size and placement and whatnot... here are 2 images I took: I also think this may help with glare once the lights are thrown on top of the truck but who knows...maybe sometime this week I can grap some pix with it laying in place on the 87

it could be corrosion on the cables or the cable joggled loose...but I will tell you of one very scary event I had in my 87... I drove across the state of NC in the snow to pick up the gf at the timeto take her home b/c her mom wouldnt come get her and i guess there was some important event going on...well I drive 300 miles and as i get into the town my truck sputters and kicks off acouple times and then starts back up...well I get her and we start to leave and it died 3 times and i was like wtf and it was just acting funny so i decided to pull into a parking lot before hitting hte highway...well when i did i lost everything...when i popped the hood i noticed lots of nice white smoek and quickly grabbed my wrecnh and went to undo the battery cable and when I did the post pulled out of hte battery...the + cable that routes from the battery to the starter had chaffed through on the frame and was insulated by the dirt/grease whatever that was there well water got between the wire and the frame and froze completing the circuit and causing hte melt down...i doubt this is your problem but it may be beneficial to just overlook b.c if I wouldnt have acted and tried to investigate my 87 wouldn't be with me today
