  1. Hey all, don't know if this has been posted on here yet. Thought it may interest some of you. A local Vancouver (BC) company that makes beautiful front and rear bumpers has just started selling a weld together front bumper kit for the R50. I've seen their work in person on a number of other vehicles and can vouch for their quality and excellent design. Here's a link: https://www.coastaloffroad.com/product-page/r50-nissan-pathfinder-high-clearance-front-bumper-kit Also side note, anybody know who's truck that is in the pics? It's a beaut!

  2. My wife just said every time she walks by the QX4's light bar she thinks it has a rhinestone encrusted tiara on. Now instead of a cool masculine off road lights all I can think of is a tiara. :rolleyes Maybe I should just call it a princess. lol

  3. First off, haven’t been on here in a looong time. I picked up a C4 corvette this past summer and that has turned into the project that sucks all my time lately. Still have the R50 though. I’m running 285/75/16 mud terrains which works out to about 33x11.5 with approximately 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. There is just no way you will get 33 or larger tires on that size of lift without cutting into the metal. Personally, I took a lot of time with the trimming on mine so I feel it looks pretty clean and would not be noticeable by anyone unless you have another R50 to compare it to, but it definitely took a lot more trimming than I originally expected. I was also unwilling to accept any rub at all at full lock, so I probably cut a bit more than some who are okay with just “good enough”. That said, if your not shy about cutting I think it’s well worth it. I love the final result of the 33’s with a relatively small amount of lift.

  4. If you are going to be pulling something particularly heavy, consider the OEM hitch as it has longer bars bolting in multiple places on the truck. Probably not important with a light load but nice for recovery purposes. The OEM has a nice step on it as well. Definitely see if f you can score it from a junkyard@gspeed151 only paid ~$50 for one. Mine has ridden 16!years without problem. I had it off for the first time this year & went ahead & did a quick spray paint job on it. Looks as good as new-you should be able to touch up a JY unit the same way.

  5. They make a fantastic bumper for 4th gen 4Runners, this is awesome! The R50 community suddenly went from 1 bumper option to several, cool beans.

  7. Resurrecting to add useful info for those shopping for alternatives or fabricating their own. 2-1/4" OD 1-15/16"ID Tabs are 3/16" Evercraft 7769179 still comes up at NAPA and appears to be the cheapest price local and online. Elsewhere there's Sunex 10202 4 Wheel Drive Spindle Nut Wrench and OTC 7698 2-1/4" Wheel Bearing Locknut Socket.

  8. I'd be most paranoid about how well each engine was maintained previously. If it were me I would remove things like valve/timing covers and the oil pan and just compare the two visually for oil sludge and whatnot. I've never done an engine swap though, just a disclaimer!

  9. I got my trailer wiring kit from eTrailer for about 30 bucks and it worked well. Simple 4-pin setup. https://www.etrailer.com/t1-2002_Infiniti_QX4.htm I used a Curt trailer hitch I got off Amazon, but honestly you'd be better off price wise finding one at a local u-pull junkyard.

  10. The best place is your local used auto parts yard like Pick-A-Part or U-Pick-It I’ve found plenty parts off Craigslist too. Should be under $50

  11. Check other major outlets including uhaul, along with smaller local shops like RV part & service dealers, custom fab shops, etc. Many, including myself, bought ours from wrecking yards. I think I paid 40 or 50 bucks for mine. Also ask yourself what your expecting to get when you say "kit". You'll need a a ball mount and wiring kit as well for your Pathfinder unless it already has it installed. You'll also need the correct size ball if you intend to tow a trailer with it. Check the trailer to find out the exact size ball you need. If you need to wiring, there is a topic here covering that install.

  12. I initially responded to stick with 01, but I guess if you carry over enough from your 02, the other ought to work. Just keep in mind 03-04 is drive-by-wire.

  14. If you run a skinny 33, ie a 10.5 not 12.5 section, or a 255/85r16 they'll fit better than a 12.5 or a 285/75r16

  15. For about $50 a piece (so cheaper than the average quality wheel spacers) you could get 15" wheels of the proper specs. I had great luck with ProComp PCW51-5883. To run 33's, you're going to have to do some serious trimming. A handful of people have done it on 2" lifts, and it really does require butchering the body panels.

  16. Or get wheels with decent back spacing/offset if you don't want to run spacers. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  17. I cut out the bolts on the rear seat hinges of my 95. Used a dremel and went thru about 4 discs. I'm 6'7" and needed the space bad. i replaced it with bolts and wingnuts as per the above. i put the front seats in the most forward positions. Now i can sleep in there when i'm in the doghouse. Great tip. i wonder if they make small inflatable matresses that might fit back there. i doubt it. Can't wait to finally camp in it. Thanks.
