  1. don't feel bad.. my rear main seal (brand new) is leaking too :furious: due to my little hiccup of the bolt too long hitting the timing pulley deal.. yah.. anyhoo... mess with the distributor.. if your timing is out that can cause the lack of power just as much as anything. part the collector and reseal with LOTS of gasket sealer and a new gasket. that'll fix the lil bugger good. sounds like you got it pretty much goin now tho.. and that's the hardest part over with!!! do you have an autotragic??? i fergot
  2. *pricks ears up* i heard, hole,s tuck, crawl and mog...... this could get interesting -study-
  3. i know the prices and part numbers you will need.. but i have always done the work myself so i don't know what's a fair price for the actual job.... but under $500 soudns good from what i can tell.
  4. :o whoah. no worries about chipping paint now i guess. lol. doesn't look too bad tho. different, but not bad

  7. i would get "hit" by a mud puddle and take it back...... that is classic. the local car washes wouldn't touch my jeep and we have a pressure washer now so i don't even try my luck atta local car wash... hehehe -bounce-
  8. sssh when you say lift liner do you mean the mud guards under/in the fender wells? yes, it is a wise idea to change them out as your stock ones will be too short... but mr P has a cheaper way of doing it by making your own also.. transworldmoto (ben) has a set.. hit him up with a pm

  11. my suggestion is to find out what those 2 plugs are for.. and what else did you take off that used to be plugged in? check all your fuses too. and get underneath the pathy and check you have the starter wired correctly.. that was another oopsie with me.... ok.. that was daves fault but still..
  12. do you have yer interlock on? lmao @ myself... i had nadda, nothing, zilch.. cuz i fergot to press down the clutch
  13. hey. i'll have you know JC Pennys have some severe speed bumps at the mall.. and when taken at 35mph + can be very damaging (as if i would know? i am allergic to malls)
  14. so full of hope K9...lol. i used a u-clamp on my crossover pipe as i knew i would be pulling the motor out again sometime. it makes life MUCH easier to use a clamp... and.. the clap will be the first thing to hit the rock instead of the pipe

  18. ditto. but mine would prolly have been in the $5,000+ range if we hadn't done the work ourselves ahhhhh.. the labor of love........
  19. pathy all the way! me likey those :cool2:
  20. don't drop yer tailgate. i have never understood why people do that. the trucks were designed with the tailgate UP. it actually can cause more drag than with it up. tell your friend not to waste his time dropping it anymore
  21. have you cleaned underneath good then watched? that is the ONLY way you are going to be 100% sure.
  22. i noticed after taking 2 long trips driving at 55-60mph (over 45 miles per trip freeway each way) that my gas mileage improved 2 fold. i used to drive 65-70 and get MAYBE 200-220 out of a tank of gas..... last weekend.. went wheeling, plus drove there at 55 and went 97 miles round trip onna 1/4 tank. :o yesterday.. drove over hills to transworlds house, doing 55-60mph all the way.. and went 137 miles round trip on just over 1/4 tank of gas.... no more 65 for me!!! -bounce-
  23. sssh what kind of noise? whirring, clunking, clanging, rubbing??? a bit better description will help us narrow down the symptoms does it stop at any speeds? just upon acceleration? hard acceleration or regular? when you hit a bump or on the flat?
  24. they did a buddies 63 chevy.. they did a nice job and the paint is still in good shape 6 years later. no orange peel or flaking definitely NOT for show cars tho
