Yeah k9sar, thats not the only thing with a mind of it's own... Keep the whoring in the whore thread, eh... Thanks. Just got them today DJD. Good shape (not folded, spindled OR mutilated !) Why did you remove the backings and stick them all together though ?? Hehehe, JK. I won't have time to scrape the grime off the truck till this weekend. I think it'll look great ! Thanks again !! The reason I got so many is when ever I see a Pathy in a parking lot... BAM !! They are now a member !! I hope you are working on the next batch... B

Er, how many miles, time of last tune up, is it stock ? I generally find fuel system cleaners to help, not hurt. What kind did you use ? Have you used it before ? How Long ago ? Could be crap is being removed and it is faking out the sensors. Could you have put too much in ratio wise ? More is not necessarly better. B

Didn't you see that it came in a gold box k9sar ?? I bought a bunch of cosmetic parts for my Pathy. The tracking listed it as 71 LBS !!. The box that showed up was HUGE !! Coffin sized !! "Ok, what the he!! did they ship me ?" Exactly what I ordered plus 1/2 cubic yard of paching material. It weighed 17 LBS, damp box included. Shipping charge... $70 UPS ground from within the same state !!! My few 1/2 arsed attempts to get an explanation were useless so I chalked it up as lesson learned, and vowed never to buy from that company again. B

Hey there Turtle9. Ok, you have a 94 A/T. Stock exhaust after the y on my 95xe is 2". You don't have to install headers, although that will give you more power... You can just replace the exhaust studs, and put in a high flow cat and muffler. Most people seem to go with 2.25" or 2.5" pipe; 3" is probably overkill for a choked 3.0 liter V6... Questions are if you have $ for the headers (recommended) and if you live in a smog strict area. B

To be fair, it doesn't seem like they made many 2x4 Pathys, and I'm sure we hardly hear from the owners as they just use them as a road vehicles. Most people who go off road would just buy the more common 4x4 models... *owl hoots in the distance* B
-
LOL V6, you going to post that in your 'Front VS Rear' thread as a reason to lock the rear first ? Glad you are getting one though, I'm sure you'll like it. B
-
Hehe, makes you wonder who's priority that implies... BB

Enough !!! Constructive criticism is welcome. This has past that point. Personal attacks have no place here ! Keep it on an adult level. Insults, taunting and threatening is below that and not tolerated. B

LOL M, instincts were my downfall. Sorry about not being clear about the previous post. My truck does NOT have ABS, it just acts like it by not locking up !! :o Glad you seem to found your fix, but sorry about the $100. With a little luck, that'll fix her... B

Don't mean to bug you V, but why would you use, much less rate M/T tires for B

Seems like he didn't need to cut the top part out by the windshield... I'm curious what is securing it to the A pillar ? That must rattle or flop a bit when driving. Hey, if it works, it works. I'd prefer something 'cleaner' looking, but it's his truck to do with as he pleases. B

The saga continues !!! LOL, good one k9sar... B

Hehe, cool Red ! *smack* (in the arm, no sense agrevating things... ) B

Well, personally, I don't care... Just poking fun at ya. As for Mr Jim, respect and all, talking to him is like talking to the Wizard of Oz. Good luck in making a connection. B

That from the initial post I missed some how. Sorry. There should be some flow, but it is not always visible looking in the radiator cap for several reasons. While I doubt the ECU protects against overheating, it may affect things through the sensor readings. I'm a big believer in what 88 said (ain't broke, don't fix). Unless you can determine something is an issue, leave it alone. What does your temp gauge read ? If you are worried about it, buy and install a coolant temp/oil temp and pressure gauge (one that registers in degrees, not arbitrary lines)... That is what I plan to do once I have income... B

Read the end of this thread... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5656 mws went farther than I did, but he is right... While the manual trannys are pretty solid along with the rear ends, 100HP could fry the auto trannys (definitely run 2 tranny coolers) and tear up the front end. Most people who do motor swaps are running SAS fronts that are nothing like stock. Just beef her up a bit, it'll do fine... B
-
From what I understand, you can get a 4x4 tranny (with transfer case or there will be a hole to cover) and drive shaft (apparently they are different) which should bolt up the same to the motor and differential. I only brought that up because you couldn't find 2x4 tranny's which are rare for Pathfinders. Some one correct me/slap me down if this is wrong, but from what I have read, it will work. I have not done it myself. Where are you located vidro ? B

Cold air intake (snorkel is nice), cams, headers and a good exhaust will give you another 30 hp easy. That'll put you in the 180's, maybe more. Cheaper and easier than an engine swap I think. What are your local smog laws like ? Personally, I think the 3L Pathy motor is a good, reliable one, if a little wimpy, but I drove a Z24 for years so I'm fine with it. B

Hey M, any luck fixing the issue/replacing the sensor ?? Sorry Repack, but I don't know doggie doo about ABS... On that note, I seem to have ABS also ! Some cell phone talking, latte drinking, lip stick smearing POS cut in front of me from the right lane to the turning lane on the left directly infront of me with the brakes on while I was accelerating from an intersection !! I pushed in the clutch and hit the brakes, trying to stop and hoping to hear the howl of 31" tires locking up to scare the piss out of the stupid *itch. I barely avoided her and got no brake lock !! Pads and shoes are ok so next weekend when the GF is here, I'll bleed the system. I hope that will fix it and it is not the MC !! Thats how stupid I am folks... I have a damaged front end and would LOVE to have it fixed on someone elses insurance dime and this was the PRIME opportunity !!! So what do I do ? Avoid it !! I should have stayed on the gas and said I didn't have time to react. Other drivers were shaking their heads so I know they wouldn't have said otherwise. I'm a chump. B

Soak it in baking soda and water mixture and reuse it. Sheesh !! I still want to know why the old battery leaked all over.... B

transmission: N, 2. the part of the automobile, truck, etc that transmits motive force from the engine to the wheels... (no, not drive shaft or differential) The term 'gear box': N, 1. the unit consisting of the transmission gears in a transmission system 2. a case enclosing gears to protect them from dirt, etc. Transmission is global for both auto and manual in the US, and probably MOST of the world. I believe they are both enclosed, have gears and transmit motive force... I understand you have a language barrier, comming on the raw prawn and all mate, or something like that... Could it be that the gear box between your ears is slipping out of third ?? Earth1... Thats the first step, but regardless, it isn't normal and probably not good. B
-
Hey 88, you going to fix this or just lock the thread ? .... :o ...... :X ...... Sorry, couldn't help it. B

I believe the model categories were added long after the Garage, and if you want to try to sort through all of it and move to the right forum, be my guest !! Actually, I understand what you mean, and we have added a few new forums to try to organize better, but there is still plenty of work to do. I like to think the model forums are for questions like "what are the largest size tires I can fit on my unlifted R50" where the garage is for "I have a tapping noise in my engine. HELP !" and such. There are a lot of mechanical people that can help regardless what year the vehicle is. B

Hmm, I have to question that 88. The TSB http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2621 states that it is for the 87ish-95 (w)d21s 4x4 only. While they do list an updated (fixed) tranny case #, the TSB date is 1997 at the earliest that is shown, implying the problem was not realised/addressed until after the trannys had stopped being put into the Pathys. I understand from reading that the 4x4 tranny can be used in a 2x4 vehicle, for a 95XE (thats what you have, right vidro?) 2x4 the tranny fluid is 5.1 pints and the 4x4 7.75 pints which to me means that they are totally different animals, not to mention a different drive shaft. I think you can swap in a 4x4 tranny from 89-95 (drive shaft included) but if you are buying a 2x4 tranny, it may have to be 93-96 only. Sorry if thats not much help, but not many people know everything about swapping d21 and wd21 trannies from all years and 2x4 to 4x4. I hope that makes some sense. 170k mile tranny should be cheap but wait to make sure it is right... I don't know where you are located so $300 ish ? Dicker with the guy and point out you have no idea of the condition and thats a lot of miles. You may be able to find a 4x4 tranny with TC and drive shaft cheaper or in better condition as they are much more common. Keep looking. B

LMAO !! Damn Dude, you been at this far longer than I have, and you KNOW that will never happen !! B
