  1. Would be sweet if we had a frame. I want one.
  2. I don't think VW offers a dual range 4x4 on the GTi...
  3. Thats strange... I really wonder what would cause it to bog down like that.. some sort of blockage? did the SES light come on?
  4. Didn't we just post a link to another board where this was going on? We aren't here to tear each other down, this isn't some who's got the bigger wank contest. From what I understand this board is to allow members to share ideas, what works, what doesnt, and allow everyone to benefit from it. Just because you don't think someone's snorkel idea is any good is no reason to tear them apart for it. Let them learn, come back here and share what went wrong and what could be done differently.
  5. you mentioned Nissan automatic hubs -- has anyone updated the flanges on the 96+ to auto hubs?
  6. Second that. If you look the springs themselves aren't any longer than the stock ones, however when they are under load they do not compress as much causing the truck to sit higher off the groud. This gives room for slightly bigger tires which will also increase your clearance. You have basically two options, the AC 2(3) inch lift available from 4x4parts.com and the Old Man Emu 1 inch lift. The 1 inch lift basically clears the truck enough to put one size bigger tires on. The idea behind the OME lift is that it allows for CV joints in the front 4x4 equipment to be at a less extreme angle, preventing premature wear. You can search, there has been alot of discussion of these topics on here. Good luck and welcome!
  7. yep, good bye stock. Also got the bushings done, only cost me 130 bucks for all 4 bushings and shocks (labor price, ordered parts from 4x4 parts)
  8. picked up my pathy today with the 5000's installed huge difference to stock. They are by no means harsh, but they are stiffer and I like em.
  9. I just ordered the 5000's because, well im poor as hell and they are half the 9000's. They are being installed right now so I will let you know how big the difference is. I really dont care how "harsh" the ride is, i think its uber soft as it is, I want something stiff
  10. I just ordered the bushings, ordered monday night, had them by friday morning. And I am in Ohio, so it's not like i am in Florida or anything. Best part is found a shop to do that and rear shocks for 120 bucks in labor. woot!
  11. With the 97 you unscrew the screws than just pull off the rest. The 99.5+ has a two part bezel and the upper part must be removed before the lower. It's pretty easy, good luck
  12. 16-17. Everytime. Doesnt matter city, highway, 4x4, stuff on the roof, always 16-17. Rather depressing I can't do anything to change it.
  13. Looks like we nuked your geocities bandwidth
  14. I can also move my airbag cover, however it doesnt cause any vibration in the driving. When I bought the truck it had a shake in the steering that took a me a while to figure out, but it was struts and links up front, tightened it right up...
  15. Yea, the only reason I was looking at them was people who have done the OME have had problems with the front being lower than the rear. They do look pretty sketch though...
  16. Ok, are the RAN-RS99118 really worth the extra 50 bucks over the RAN-RS5118? I can see the differences on the summit website (Poly bushing instead of rubber, triple tub instead of double and of course the 9000 is adjustable) But are all these differences worth the extra money? I am doing the bushing job next week and figured I would throw shocks on at the same time.. wish I could add new springs then but money doesnt permit now... SECOND: what the heck is this? Anyone know anything about or had experience with these? Thanks, Cameron
  17. now thats pretty sweet, bet that would help getting through mud
  18. It's solid axle, yet still has the control arms, yay Nissan. Nick, thanks for the info, going to order the bushings this weekend in hopes that they arrive sometime in the next two months....
  19. Ok I searched and searched and couldn't find the answer to this question. When doing the control arms in the back, do I need to do both lower AND upper or just lower? I want to order these bushings and get this done as soon as possible, its just scary to drive now.
  20. eBay has had them. I almost bought one for my 97 because the white face gauges are sweet..
  21. yea, ebay, I got 2 for 30 bucks, the recode instructions are pinned in the 96+ forum. It's easy. Just do a search by the FCCID located on the back of the remote
  22. I put mine on the backs of the seats, mount them in Fork first.. granted I usually just throw em on top.. Nice though, that is probably much easier to load than mine
