  1. Took the path into the shop to have a half shaft replaced, they being the good shop they are checked all my fluids. Well they found metal shavings in both the tranny and transfer case pans. They told me that the majority of the metal was from the transfer case and they found a used transfer case for 700. They could however not find a used (manual) transmission. Any ideas on what I should do? Thinking about having them just button it up and trading it in... Odd is the fact I just had the transfer case fluid changed about a month ago... Anyways any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Silly Topic?

Just get a replacement for another vehicle that mounts to the windshield.. I hate that review mirror that refuses to hang parking passes properly...
  3. I love my AC lift and Rancho 5000's. The ride is stiff and controlled and didnt cost me an arm and a leg (well I got the springs used off this board). After the lift settled a little bit the ride was exactly what I wanted in an SUV, stiff enough to perform well on the highway while still soft enough to take the riggors of off road use. The topping out struts you get used to, slow down over bumps. The main reason I didnt go with the OME set up was I didnt like the "drag car" stance it got being taller in the rear than in the front.
  4. Sorry to hi-jack this post... but I got my clutch replaced at a shop and I got it back from them and the SES light was on.. Ran the codes at advance and it was the CAS.. unfortunately I had this job done in the middle of nowhere West VA as my clutch went out en route to home from school so I didnt go back to fight it.. But it's been two years now and I havent replaced it. Is this a difficult replacement?
  5. yea. there is. My dad has an 01 with the 3.5, I get back in the 97 and I swear it feels like a 4banger pulling her along... The 3.5 is a NICE engine

  8. uhhh. I'm guessing you are looking for pezzy?
  9. You are going to be hard pressed to find "cheap but decent" coils for our trucks. There is limited aftermarket support so what you see on these boards is what's available. Basically you can replace with stock nissan again, OME or AC coils. Replacing with stock nissan would restore your ride height to normal/eliminate the sag. I, however, do not know how much those cost. The wobbling you talk about it probably from your rear control arm bushings (do a search for this) and its a little bigger problem than the coils. Anyone else want to chime in?
  10. ahhh Frankenpathy Frankenvan, meet frankenmaro... not nearly as many wires in this thing though.
  11. I also thought I wanted a 4Runner when I got the path. But for a comparably equipped 4 I would spend about 3-4K more. I read the consumer reports and really it seemed all you paid for was the toyota name.. Good trucks. I cant offer any insight on the WD21's though.
  12. Snow sports hurt less when you have a little something to loosen up. Oh how I love winter.

  15. Sorry, I wont lie, didnt read all of this. But, shifting between 4HI and 4LO will only be achievable when the knob is in LOCK. This is the only time the traditional 4WD is engaged. At this point you should be able to put the truck in N and move the lever between 4H and 4L
  16. I've got 20K+ on mine and they still look real good. Rotated every 10K I believe. not that often...
