POR15 is pretty wicked sweet though. Did the entire inside and underside of a 75 camaro two years ago. The car was used as a daily, and even when the roads were salted it remained very rust free. This started as a car that had a hole big enough to put stuff through on the passenger side... got it patched and we POR15'ed the thing. But yea its baller expensive.. glad it wasnt my car.

so can we get some readons - why OME instead of AC or vice versa??

Pads are easy - get a haynes manual it will walk you through it step by step. If I could do it on an 88 BMW a newer Pathy should be easy. Basically you loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then you will use a C-Clamp to compress the caliper, pull it off, replace the pads and put it back on. Its pretty straight forward.. as for the brake flush, i DOUBT you need that...

So did some more research after studying last night.. 96 & newer have the OBDII connector (all vehicles from 1/1996 on I believe) and through that connector the computer has a list of parameters it is supposed to output such as engine speed, coolant temp.. here is the list of generic parameters all OBDII computers are supposed to output http://www.autotap.com/generic_parameters.asp here is a couple screen shots from one of the programs http://www.autotap.com/autotap_for_windows_screenshots.html Pretty complex program there. Gives you full access to your on board computer. Pretty sweet.

After reading your post I did some googling on laptops hooked up though the OBD connector. One guy had a 98 TJ and the screen shot he had showed it out putting information on oil pressure, speed and other assorted things.. does yours do this? Where did you get the parts for your cable?

Dude, thats sweet, but the link for more info didnt work... I would be interested on how that was done and what information you could get.
-
Yea, that is one thing I am surely looking forward too.. if I took that 200/month for the truck payment and put it into my IRA.. I would be sittin pretty down the road. Or if I took that 200 and put it into pathy upgrades, that woudl be trey sweet too.

Living on a budget is something that I think you have to deal with for the rest of your life. But I know what you are saying, the list of things I want/need grows faster than my measly checking account... Freakin tuition and books and crap
-
Yea I think so, everytime I look at them its dark and muddy. haha. but yea I think thats what I have used to pull my rear outta the mud. I'd love to have some real hooks back there
-
mmm hitch. that would be nice... not that I tow anything, but I MIGHT. and that would be a sweet anchor point in the back.
-
I've used the stock "tie downs" in the back under the bumper to pull out before. Manual claims I shouldnt do that, but I have been stucker than stuck and was able to get out with someone pulling on those, they stayed attached... I am not really sure where to attack hooks as we don't really have a frame per se...

Yea I checked out the 100 month thing, I am up in april(according to vehicles date of sale)... So I will have them check it out when I get some free time here in the next couple days. Thanks!
-
ok, I will check that out, I think i just got a dealer who didnt want to deal with it and was hoping i would just let it slide. Good thing I only drive my truck on weekends.. keep those miles down.

The feeling is shared here too. Wish I had gotten the 31s but money did not permit at the time and now i want to wait till these wear out.. Start saving now for new wheels and tires.. hopefully get that OME done here soon.
-
That would explain why my bumpstops are just chillin inside the spring now... I want to put the OME suspension on this spring before i head back home for the summer (the drive to school this year with my MTB, Kayak and all my clothes, etc) was a little sketch.. I know my rear end is fatigued as it is and then overloading like that wasnt too smart.. So I hope to stiffen her up this spring. -I've noticed that more and more, maybe i don't pack like a woman so much as a 15 year old girl going to NSync camp
-
haha that in english terms would be a motherload. I pack like a woman.
-
ohhhh i wanna try Pathfinder Pathfinder Pathfinder
-
ultra low as compared to? and what weight are you talking about trailering or just hauling in general? I know I bring a metric crapload of stuff to school each year..
-
yea dude that purplelizard or whatever site is the sweetness. I have been going there since I got my path. Nice job
-
hell im happy above 280 highway... hate the gas mileage love the truck....

Well that depends on how "off road" you really want to get. I am an avid outdoorsman and often times to get to trail heads or remote fishing locations, or remote river access for kayaking it involves being off the beaten trail. The R50 Pathfinder is quite capable off road when equipped properly, much like any modern SUV. There is a story floating around here somewhere of a group of guys who took a Xterra and a R50 Pathfinder down the Rubicon trail.. so it can be done. I know I have gotten mine into and out of places that probably weren't in the heads of the designers of this truck, and it has performed great. All i have done is put on a slightly bigger set of tires (would like to go 1 inch bigger when they wear out..) but other than that she is stock. As for aftermarket stuff its out there, definately, check out the link in the post above this one. You just have to know where to look. Don't worry, you didnt somehow get yourself into a CRV or anything horrid like that... although I have had some muddy fun in one of those... It really comes down to driver skill, this truck can make it through alot of stuff.

Isnt that the truth... I miss the DC area oh so much..
-
I was going to put mine on my swing out spare tire carrier but apparently that wont work...?
