If you have a Moog idler arm it will flail around under different conditions because its design is different. Your replacement should NOT be of this style. The other style allows for Idler arm bracing as well so that is an added plus. This thread shows the difference between the two styles. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18546&st=

Cool, My cat may find its way closer to the engine and I Just wanted to know incase I ever move back to cali.
-
It will mess with your alignment and on the trail it will gouge your frame.

I'd re-charge it first, a can+ rechage guage should be about $20 or less. If that doesn't last then you can take it in or you can buy a leakfinder kit your self (about $60-$70) at the auto store. It has a specail dye in it that you locate with a blacklight (in the kit) Once you have the leak located you can 1) replace the part and recharge the system req 2-3 more bottles and 1 oz comprssor oil depending on what your replaced 2) take it in for repair. @ $60 an hour or more; the leak kit would be worth while if it takes a shop more than 1 hr to find the leak. Once found you can let them to the rest if you don't feel up to the task.

Per the FSMover 9 PSI Idle 53-65 PSI @ 3200 RPM I believe Older engines may see 7 at idle without consequence.

James your right, it did last 250k this was just something me and 510 were talking about so I figured others might be interested too. And yeah whatever I can find strong and cheap is good All V6's got Hitachi s114-528 All 4cyl 4x4 Hitachi s114-703a there are 2 more Hitachi's and 2 Mitsubishi's (ok 6 starters total) for the remaining 2wd 4cyls. I'm thinking that because of the interlock feature, (using the starter to move the truck) all 4x4 got a plenty beefy starter.
-
B, did they check the location of your cat to be sure the Front face of it is wihtin 3" of its original location? Appearantly thats a CARB law... I just wonder if they enforce it at all?

Hey guys, Seems my starter has died on me and a friend of mine said the KA pathfinder starter might be stronger because inline 4bangers are harder to turn over than V6's. Has anybody tried this? On the other hand, The FSM lists 5 differant starters for the w/d21 but only one of them was used on 4x4 models. This leads me to belive that maybe the 4x4 starter for the 4x4 is stronger to support the interlock feature. anybody got any Ideas/ Input? thanks.

put some finishing touches on my rear bumper... Loading tests will happen next weekend, and hopefully Powder Coating as well.

Bad experience with Schneider here, you can read about it similar on other Z-boards too. Their quality control is poor. My custom grind was 3deg off and several z-guys reported their Schneider grinds not matching on the degree wheel little left to right.

If I had a 2dr Pathy that I didn't wheel I would put a bench seat in it. Its a direct bolt on from the hardbody pickups. I don't think mine will ever get a bench because when Get on a slope I would wind up sliding over to the Pass Door. Headers and better exhaust will help MPG and give more go. (my wifes pathy even deserves those).

Thermostat, -you do not NEED a $12 gasket just use quality RTV sealant. (same for the bypass neck if you remove it to change the hose) Bypass hose Crank seal Cam seal Water pump Water pump gasket Timing belt The above are all things that should be done at the same time to avoid future tear downs. The valve cover gaskets you can skip Unless they are leaking. And I would try to tighten down your covers a little before you go replacing those...

I think the pathy compressor will fail without A/C lubricant running thru it. Consider getting a power tank or a small restaurant CO2 bottle? with both CO2 can be stored as a liquid inside the bottle so the actual volume of compressed gas that comes out of it is tremendous. One 10lb power tank will air up about 40 tires or 60 with the 15lb. And it will High demand air tools without needing a big reservoir like compressed air setups do. http://www.powertank.com/

Who wants a better Cat? Magnaflow cats $75
MY1PATH replied to MY1PATH's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Um ok, allot of mis information here. So here's some correct points. the magnaflow cats perform BETTER emissions than your 20 year old OEM units. They are smaller because they have one less core but the amount of CATALYST is the same or greater than oe spec. the core just slows the gas and heats the Catalyst so it reacts faster on a cold engine. DON'T SMOG COLD! regardless of the 2.25 or 2.0 label; both my 89' cat and my 94 had about a 2.2" opening that bolted over the stock protruding flanges and if you want your cat to be 2.5" go buy a universal one! these are meant to be OE replacements THESE ARE OE REPLACEMENTS and AS such they ARE NOT Magnaflows HIGH FLOW CAT. Yes they flow more than stock but they do not flow as much as the Metallic core High flow units. Here are some numbers pulled off a Dyno when some guys decided to test a few cats; Test pipe restricted 0 hp Magnaflow Metallic core High flow restricted 1 HP Magnaflow OE style restricted 3 HP OEM unit restricted 4 HP I can't remember what the test pig was but I am sure the pathfinder OE restricts 5-7 HP depending on how much carbon build up is inside it. -
IN the winter I cover half the RAD and the whole tranny cooler with a sheet of cardboard. This helps the 94 warm up quicker and its cold enough that the temps stay normal. My 89 has an e-fan and it just never runs in the winter.

Maybe if you had a roof it wouldn't want to flop as much. LOL

I'm still waiting for mine to die, For few days earlier this month it seems like it wouldn't even turn over... Now it works fine so... I'll wait till it dies.
-
Yeah just put gas in it and drive it. All pumps make noise ours Hiss, other cars humm or click.... its fine.

Need to find bigger injectors at a cheap price - impossible?
MY1PATH replied to 2milehi's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
nope vg33 injectors will not do. Go to a JY and pull them off a 300zx turbo. -

bumped for tungsten! -
1-2 ton will be strong enough but most of them do not lift high enough for a lifted pathy. The wife got me a 4.5 ton jack that had plenty of height but it broke my back to move it arround. (wheels don't work on stairs) I personally prefer bottle jacks and hi-lifts for the pathy. They are light easy to position and don't take up near as much space. I literally do all my diveway jacking with the factory bottle jack.
