technically all the seals only have 24000 miles on them. So I have begun. so far have taken off all the belts, air box, bunch of wires etc. am waiting to take off intake plenium as i cant get the egr tube off the headers. have hit it with pb blaster and will try again a little later. what size socket is the main crank? biggest I have is 24, it looks like a 28? need to pick that up too.

how bout this? not exactly a liner, but kinda neat. cargo mat

also, just reading about the member whos cam sprocket slipped. burning through a head gasket wouldnnt cause valves to hit the pistons or anything would it? obviously ill check the piston heads thoroughly, but just wondering.

yes the 91 has an amp, it should be in the back behind the passengers side wall. access through the removable plastic bits. supposedly they have too much power and you should bypass them or use an aftermarket amp.
-
check that your fluid level is good in the transfer case, and you could try changing it too.
-
where would i get a valve spring compressor? whats the point of changing the seals? is it bad if i didnt do that?

Anyone have an opinion on OME shocks? I like my Ranchos in the rear, but maybe want something softer for the front too.
-
ok, thanks guys. one more question. would it be ok to leave my thorleys on the heads when i take the heads off? I've got no leaks etc and want to make this as little work as possible as well as not mess anything up.

murder does not have to be premeditated...that would be "premeditated murder" manslaughter is more like unintentional killing, like if you run someone over by accident its usually manslaugher as you didnt turn the wheel into the person on purpose. this sounds like murder as they shot someone with intent to kill and it was not in self defense, or because they were trespassing(even if they thought they were trespassing) idk about TX but in AZ if you even point a gun at someone in a non-self defense situation its an offense as it is assumed you intend to shoot anything you point a gun at (2nd rule of gun safety: never point your gun at anything you are not intending to destroy) -
some people have all the luck

you lucky bugger. I keep looking for a deal here for heated leather seats to replace mine, congrats on your great find and such a good price.

Ok, so I'm gonna rip apart my engine to replace the head gaskets starting on tuesday. While I'm in there I'm gonna replace a couple of lifters to see if that will get my tap to stop, and will replace the timing belt with a new one JIC. Theres a few other minor things I'll take care of too. The closer it gets the more nervous I'm becoming, especially when it comes to putting it back together. I really dont want to mess anything up. Anybody have any tips for me they would like to share? Anything else I should look at when I'm in there? I've read a bunch of posts but just thought I'd ask anyways. Thanks guys.

no removable plug? as in the plug socket is there with the 3 prongs but not the part that connects to it? mine just got here and thats how mine is too. can i just use spade connectors on the prongs or is there another way to retrofit it?
-
if the rubber in my brake fluid cap gets mis-shapen mine comes on. check and see if that is out of shape first.
-
yeah, im gonna do the alternator upgrade before i put it in.
-
yeah, it hurt. hopefully you can get it done for less though. are you gonna replace the bolt too?
-
i just had that fixed on my truck. didnt trust myself to do it myself. cost $200 + $100 labor.
-
i think those are the trailing arm bushings. someone on here will correct me if im wrong. can get them at 4x4parts.com for about $37-45 per kit, need 4 kits to replace all bushings.
-
bushings for what?? energy suspension upper and lower control arm bushings are about $35 steering stabilizer bar bushings around $25 rubber ones are a little cheaper but done last as long.

and would these head bolts be ok? head bolts

ok, so I have been doing a lot of research on here and I'm 99% sure the ticking is a bad lifter over cylinder #5. some of the videos I have found have sounded EXACTLY like what mine sounds like, so just have to get confirmation from another member that it indeed was a lifter and thats one less thing to investigate. Reading up in the FSM and on NPORA I am very confident about doing the head gaskets, although still a little nervous about doing my timing. Some things people have done or said have confused me too. Do I have to loosen the rockers to pull the heads off? Should I pull the heads, do the gaskets, and get the heads back on there and then do the lifters?
-
*bump did you ever figure out if it was the lifters MadMike? cos thats the exact same sound mine was/is making!!
-
how would I go about checking that/replacing that?
-
well im gonna have to look when i take it apart. 90% certain the place i got it from will do thier best to wriggle out of any responsibility. At best im thinking i might get a couple of hundred bucks. any suggestions on what to look at for this tapping noise woule be appreciated.
