  1. probably about the place most DIYs start. it's easy and you get ideas on how to work on these thing. great directions by simon. ignore the rest (in this thread only) if your truck has over 100k you may also look into having the timing belt changed. this is NOT a job you should undertake. definitely ask your buddy. it is pretty easy for experienced wrench turner. search for more info. it's all inthis here forum. also look around for the tranny cooler modification. have fun reading and learning.
  2. well, how is the fuel filter? air filter? yeah, may want to check compression.. pulling the dipstick is not accurate at all.
  3. somehow i missed this before.. what do you mean by that?.. it has to blink something. even an 'all clear' code.. did you check the how-to's for error code recovery?
  4. hell, i even posted a vid of how to do it in one of those stickies so you must not have read them then at all.
  5. the sender unit would have nothing w/ your truck not starting. fusable link is in the loom coming from the battery. get a basic shop manual at least
  6. dude, what do you expect man? there is nothing here that hasn't been already covered in all the other 4x4 shifting threads that you supposedly read already.
  7. it could be the relay.. maybe the fusable link?
  8. have you checked the charge on your battery? what's the V?
  9. well, it is either v6 or this simon character and i am thinking the foreigner from up north is definitely more dangerous. hehe :D
  10. simnon, you're going to get this threat shut down fast with that kind of bad attitude! :D
  11. we're not here to make everyone's lives harder.. the opposite is true.. none of us are on any kind of a high and mighty trip either. i find all the posters are good peeps too.. that makes a big difference.. just look at XOC or pirate for the "quality" of postings and you'll see a huge difference.
  12. he should get a code with that.. although the codes don't always pop up.
  13. everyone may want to hold off on that for a minute.
  14. i got the exact same as original bosch one for less the most of the generic ones. shop around.. it pays.
  15. put them on all four wheels.
  16. way to finish off the thread shakinPF... lol checking once a week is definitely not overdoing it. if you have a very long commute, checking before each trip isn't a bad idea. these engines don't really leak. puddles under the truck is normally the first sign but if you check your fluids often, you may just notice it on the dipsticks. if you have a clutch, you also want to check that fluid... blinker fluid also comes to mind. :X i like to stick to the same brand of fluid but i do add whatever is handy if/when i am really low. i also grease all the zerqs when i do oil changes.
  17. yellow only may be a midas shock yellow and light blue is bilstein. i have pro comp shocks on and the shocks themselves are ok but all the rubber insulators are crap. they are all gone off of mine and i probably don't have 20k mi on them. i also had issues with the supplied rubbers.. they didn't fit properly.. i hade to modify them. if you think you may do the SL, do make sure to get the longer shocks. as 88 said, the boots are worthless.. i never put them on.
  18. 6mm? are you sure? that's awfully small. hmmm.. i think it's like 26mm on wd21. btw. nice edit unc. nice pix.
