  1. that's all i ever do from about 10F and down. long hauls i'll either take it out completely or cut a hole in the middle of the cardboard although i use like beer boxes or whatever happen to be there when i need it so, there is always some air going through. the cardboard fits nicely between the radiators.
  2. wtf? it has to.. not in gear is N and besides: i normally warm my up.. start it.. go back in the house.. come back in a little and drive but the garage is rarely v. frozen. anyway, the pollution controls kick in faster because the truck actually warms up faster when drive.. k9, the quote about 10w30 is actually right except his reason is weak.. the real reason is that it is the base oil from which all other oils are made so it has less additives and doesn't break down as easily.
  3. vg33 will squeeze in a pathy (Iirc) so compare it to the zd3..
  4. you're on there too? i'd still prefer the G.. MLs have had many issues over the years.. one of the crappiest products out of Stuttgart i can recall.
  5. yet i still do and have been thinking of tweaking my lights so the driving AND bright fillaments come on at the same time. lol
  6. well, it seems to have fixed itself. lol.. i really haven't had the time to mess with it properly but the truck purrs like it's supposed to. hmm.
  7. hmmm. i bet that may be my issue.. seems like i feel movement and iirc one guy told me he thought my axle moved, but i am thinking he said side to side.. hmm.. thanks for that info.. i will have to look into it further.
  8. i wheeled with a hooked up 05X-OR and one out of the box and i tell yea, amazing.. that locker definitely makes a huge, huge difference. the older ones are very nice... toyota SUVs seem to have an issue with the view out the front of the cab. i've been around all of them except some of the new ones.. they all had "restricted" view; you name it, 4runner, fj40, fj55, PU.. but they are durable horses and tough as nails.. well, the bodies tended to fall off of most.. lol there was something a while back about the new FJs cracking frames though. for a factory deal, that pup is hard to beat although it's really a moded wrangler the true horses here. the sammy is something i may consider as a pure off roader one day as it's small and i like to tuck my truck in places most people wont. i've wheeled a lot of quad tracks... personally, the pathfinder is really nice size... bigger ones can't fit in as well.. as much as i like the older Xs, they are actually pretty huge.. factory 32" tires and then you go up from there.. they are wider too, i think.. CG seems kind of freaky but they all can do anything i can and then some (mainly 'cause of the HP.) in these trucks you can travel across the continent and be pretty comfy, sammy or a jeep, i don't know man. don't discount unimogs though.. there are some pretty cheap ones out there.
  9. what, you don't speed? btw. speed limits west of you only increase. safety anyone?
  10. yeah.. nissanpathfinders has been dead for some time now.. things will be AOK eventually.
  11. i'd imagine there is.. did you look in the fuse box? there is a map in there.. or there should be one anyway.
  12. there really isn't much more room back there.. i still wouldn't mind having an NG setup for the extra range but that's kind of a pita to get here in the states.
  13. i am pretty sure there is a great write up by 88 on how he did his somewhere in the garage's how to's.
  14. nope, you can shift on the fly all the time (<40mph)... you really never want the fronts engaged unless you are actually in need of it.. otherwise you're spinning the front axles needlessly. the only thing you have to stop for is 4lo and to backup to get the fronts unlocked.
  15. you don't need to lift the vehicle to get under it unless you're a large person.
  16. no, 6 plugs is all you have.. you do have 6 injectors but the wires to those don't come from the dizzy nor do they resemble a plug wire. i think any external cooler for the tranny is better then stock.. whatever price suites you, go with that. do the ATF change after you install the external cooler.. no sense in messing with it twice. the fluid is fine as long as it's slick, pink and smells kind of sweet.
  17. i've always thought it was the sway bar links too but it may be the sway bar or one of the other links (x-memebr or panhard)... i am going to have to look harder myself as it's getting worse.
  18. it should say what you have on the tag on the door jamb.. or one under the hood. if you have a carb looking like thing (under the air filter) then it's a TBI; if you have a little air filter on the driver's side front and a big air intake on the top of the motor then you have MPFI.. if you have 4 wires coming out of the dizzy (distributor) then you have a 4 banger.. if you have no wires then you have a diesel.
