Nissan Pathfinder $1.85 million lawsuit verdict will stand
nunya replied to Pezzy's topic in General Forums
I think it's just climate/maintnance/luck of the draw. -
Get the people out of that picture, we want to see the truck!!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You don't really want to start a wd21-r50 fight, they soemtimes seem to get a little heated. I make my jokes on ocasion but end it quickly so it don't get carried away. Each has it's plus and minus points(even if they didn't make a 2 door r50).

I keep mine set like that when its flat! Looks good though, I thought I saw that setup once already.

Uh, your truck was 11 years old at the time of the accident, be happy you were not in a Neon...(I was expecting some kind of shot at wd21 frames) -
I lose, my 88 is still being built as of 8/2009 and still not complete
-
Flowmasters don't seem to hav ea long life on anything around my parts. Of course what is goeing to hold up with snow/salt part of the year...
-
Had to ask, don't take offence to it. Is it internally good though? Possibly broke or seperated under a boot?(I have seen it happen before)
-
You can't pick on my spelling now!!! Good to see it worked out for you though in the end. Nice to see someone tell you about the rebate as well.

I had the stripped thread issue on a HB once, mixed with weak springs that didn't have much arch left to them. A set of helper leafs( the ones you actually add to the leaf pack, not the dorky ones you clamp to half the leaf) or a small block will give you some height in the back if you get your front end straightened out and get it up higher than the rear.
-
Guessign your doeing the dashpad as well, if so remember to make sure you switch the V.I.N. tags so the correct # goes in the correct truck. That and be careful takign the vents out of the top of the dash to get to the bolts under them, the clips tend to brake easily since it is 20 year old plastic that has been in direct sunlight all its life. (p.s. have an extra set of hands as well, lining up when installing SUCKS alone)

I like the Idea, even though I don't 'camp' in the back of my truck, I still liek to ocasionally lay back there on a nice rainy night.(Something just relaxing about the sound of it off the roof). May have to give this one a try.

was more meant to say that they are solid axle unibody trucks out of the box, meaning unibody has nothing to do with 'not' swappign in something more 'solid'. But yes xj' sand whatever the chassis code for Grand Cherokees are have coil sprung front ends.
-
proablky the same reason there is still so many IFS wd21's. Money, time, and alot of people need their Pathys for everyday use as well as toys and can't have them down for long periods of time.
-
Just curious, who told you that you couldn't? And what does r50's being unibody have to do with it? Look underneath a factory Cherokee and tell me where the full frame is and then describe to me what the front suspension looks like. It take is parts/money/and fab skills but is not impossible.

Im guessing you get the old tailpip[e probe test and your talking about the rpm signal pick-up. I know in PA (on 95 and older with more than 5k miles a year put on) we have to get that done. They 'should' have a seperate pick up that does not have to be actually clip to a wire but can still pick up rpm signals.

Aftyer driving to work today on a jump pack with a ratchet strap holdign my hood shut I decided to do this today. Useful info one tagged for a 94 Maxima had a different plug than my 88, one tagged for a 92 had correct plug. I did also go from an external cooling fan on the alt to internal(due to the jump in years I would guess) and had to make a small spacer to keep the pully off of the alt.(Cut an old un-warrantied socket down to size). It's nice to be charging again and with a little extra juice to boot.

Because the one we junked had about 3 good pieces of glass, not a good panel on it, transfer case stuck in 4hi, junk rear axle, slipping auto trans...well basicly a good 4.0l (that had over 200k on it) and a front axle that was proably good that was in the shape of an xj. It was worth WAY more for its weight, considerign it was filled from floor to roof with scrap. Not like I killed a good doner to anything.
-
Zip ties?
-
Yup, just recently junked one at work(not cut up like that, just a busted ol' stock one) think it was an 88 or 89? Had that front clip.
-
I'm still goeing to copy that idea Dave, I'm just too lazy... You ever get your setup worked out so you didn't have to go underneath to disconect them that you were planning?
-
Now there's an Iidea that sounds crazy enough to kind of make sence. Yes re-connection may be a bit of a pain but thats why you have someone to bounce on the bumper for allignment issues and as Tex said, a trusty old persuasion device.

XJ + saw-zall - doors = what you are looking at
-
Does it have factory flares on it to begin with? If not they may be wide enough to help you out?
