It definately is not the cluster. Somehow the ground on that circuit is now hot. this can be caused by either loose connections or wire insulators rubbing over time and making a connection or someone installing something and not grounding everything properly. The way to find out it to test the two prongs for the 10Ameter fuse. Do this without goign through the multiple junction box. One should be hot and one should be the ground. If the ground is hot, find out what wire color it is and then chase it to see where it is frayed/kinked/broken/fouled up. (Have fun with that!) If you have a ground, then the junction box is messed up. Whatever you do dont keep putting large fuses in, you can cause a fire, damage other electrical components and/or melt a wiring harness, that will be more expensive and more of a headache.

The FSM should cover the testing proceedure for the module and the sensor. There may just be a corroded/loose connection somehwere, esp from the module as it is in the engine compartment. The wiring of this system is very simple and straight forward, so checking the connections should not be too hard.

Agreed, sounds like the plug/wire on the MAF sensor.

NOTE: the pully on the superhcarger is a discontinued OEM part.....

Nissan made this only one year. Last time I looked, the body decals were still available....at some $3400 per side..... I have seen one only two before. One in Lufkin, TX and one trashed (sad) one in Dallas. I would probably kill for one as well.

Of course it would be easier to replace with it out of the truck but there is no reason if you are patient. I have never done one on a Pathy, have on a Pontiac and an Isuzu. Tokk a few hours. where I work we dont see a lot of clutches being replaced here because the cost of the clutch by itself is 2/3 the cost of a whole new compressor with the clutch installed already, factor in the age of the compressor to start with and you have some decisions to make....

I pull mine out and stare at it from time to time thinking of ways to mount it on my '95. I have messed with it a lot, its possible but will take time to sculpt a sloped base for it. I am to lazy. But at least I have one and YOU dont!

Here is your anser: Your vehicle had a remote starter on it at some point. A GOOD installer will put one of these on when they install an aftermarket remote starter in order to keep the voltage 'balanced' and reduce heat on the system. You also see installers use these up near the battery or near an amp when they install a high capacity amplifier for a sound system.

Yeah, no room unfortunately. 88 is right it would be a project. But anything is possible with enough time and money.

Most of them out there end up being expensive. I just gave up and made my own.

It was a very, very expensive accessory when Nissan offered it. Nissan does not sell accessories as well as regular parts and stops making them about one year after a model goes out of production. Once the stock dries up thats it, they are done. I come accross some from time to time in various conditions. I usally grab them if the price is right. I will of course let anyone know if I find one.

Be careful, in some states that is a felony.

More than 3" and you will mess with the backpressure on the engine. It actually needs a little to fucntion properly.

I will echo what a few people have already said. A bolt is not a bolt, they are all different with diffrent strengths, shear, etc. Make sure you get the right thing.

Wow. Good you caught it before it got bad. Thanks for the pics, really shows the difference. Having worked in both aftermarket parts for 5 years and now OEM parts, I know there is a difference many, many times in teh quality of parts, I even try to explain it sometimes. Most people are just too far into the walmart/cheap culture to listen anymore. It shoudl strike you odd if your part fits 17 differenct vehicles from 9 different manufacturers.... On the other hand I will also flat up tell someone not to buy something from me sometimes and I will tell them why. Most people do seem to appreciate that honesty though.

I agree with B. I have never had anyone need to replace their trans control module on any pathfinder ever. (and you dont want too! expensive). I think we did one once on an Altima or Maxima and it was warranty.....

You can get the bushings seperate but its a real PITA to replace them and you very well can screw them up if you do it wrong. Much much easier to just replace the whole thing. For an additional $80 or so (I think the list is $115 for the whoel part and $12 or so per bushing) you have to ask how much 5 hours of your time, frazzled nerves and bleeding knuckles is worth when you could have been done 4 hours earlier.......
