Is This A Factory Alarm Switch?
Alkorahil replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I do not think that clifford module is the original alarm system. -
Brake Booster Check valve? Something people forget about that should be replaced when vehicles get old. I replaced mine for giggles cuz we had one laying around about to be returned to Nissan and was surprised how much more responsive my brakes got.
-
I would tend to agree.
-
Dont do it on your back in a mall parking lot in the rain. Believe me it sucks!
-
I would also add that the instructions dont mention that you program the alarm with the doors closed.
-
Sounds like the security control module is not storing or recognising the code. Its been a while but...... If I recall correctly there is a small watch battery inside the control module under the driver seat used to store the code when the vehicle is turned off.

I was looking at the pictures. The markings on the differntial housing make it look to me that it was possibly a salvage yard part. Not a deal breaker but something to take a closer look at. A little surface rust on it but it is 21 years old. Form the pictures there didnt seem to be any that has beaten through, just surface rust than can be cleaned up.

95 Pathfinder Runs 3K Rpm Doing...
Alkorahil replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Agreed. 2800-3000 rpm depending on if there is a headwind or not for me at 75 mph. -
Keep in mind that when they were designed the speed limit was 55. It wasnt till 1995 that congress lifted the federal speed limit.

Is This A Factory Alarm Switch?
Alkorahil replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That is the alarm switch for the dealer installed accessory alarm system. The switch is still available by itself. IRRC its like $20. Not surprised the guy at the counter didnt know or could not find it, it is a little obsucure and you have to know where to find the information buried in years of Nissan parts manuals. (and actually still have the accessory manuals for a 15+ year old truck) -
Thats about what it comes to. At that point, why not just go buy a used 350z instead? (sigh) We get many kids here that have watched the first 'The Fast and the Furious' and played 'Grand Theft Auto' on their XBox and think they are now qualified mechanics. (BTW: The Master Mechanics have watched all four Fast and Furious movies.) Add to this, we are in a upper class suburban area, so they have an attitude that think they know everything and we must be stupid. Dont get me wrong though, sometimes we do get some kid that will listen and wants to learn, but for everyoneone like that there are 3 with some hairbrained idea. If you want some more fun anectodes I asked a lady this morning if her vehicle had automatic or manual transmission, she stated that she did not know and then asked how she can tell. Earlier this afternnon ago a woman wanted called and stated she wanted "the right side rear driver side window motor". I then stated to clarify that "the right hand side is the passenger side of the vehicle, were you needing the passenger or driver's side?" Her reply was "No she wants the driver rear right hand side". (a restatement of what she just said) I then stated she wants the drivers side rear. She then siged and said "thats what I said." The best one this week was yesterday. This really nice older sounding guy stated to me that he had a 2002 Frontier and that "I need parts for my frontier but I dont know what I need."

I second (or is it third?) the gasket.

Possibly. I know many people with R51s that have lifts. They seem to work just fine.

Problem is liability on putting wrong parts on a vehicle knowingly. I told him he would need to replace the fuel rails, fuel pump, fuel regulator, ECM, engine and EGI harness, possibly the fuel lines, MAF and TCU. He didnt like that answer.

I saw someone with a remote start and a MT put their Mustang into a the glass front entry of grocery store. Surprisingly no one was injured.

Simon beat me to the punch here! I concour.

Ricers make my eyes roll everytime they come to the front counter here. I think the most painful was a punk kid last summer who wanted to put the injectors from a 350z into his Sentra. He and his friend just didnt understand why it was not likely to work and not a good idea. I asked him why he wanted to do this and he said so he can get more fuel to his engine...... Unfortunately this is not a carbuerator engine from 1965. More fuel doesnt equal more combustion. This conversation went around and around for 30 minutes....30 minutes of my life I will never get back.

I like the side decals on this middle pic.
-
There is a black Ford Focus here in town with VTEC decals on the side of it that could use that NOS system.
-
If it was the factoty fog light kit, there should be a black Bosch relay mounted on the passenger side firewall near the wiper motor.
-
Yep its good!
-
Just not popular off road vehicles.....
-
Good idea, esp if you live in a northern state!

Definately looks like a retread to me!
