  1. Yep, at this age, I would change the coolant temp sensor no matter what, and it may fix your problem too.
  2. Very good point! Its about what? 5 or 6 inches of flex to have them fall out?
  3. Yes it could defiantely be that.
  4. I concour. It is CYA. WARNING! Doing anything may kill you.
  5. I have heard good things about these tires from customers.
  6. You can adjust and tighten the steering box, but I concour with GrimGreg from looking at that video.
  7. Without seeing the estimate write up, all I see from the pics and description of what happend is three components and some paint and labor. H0101-0W0CE DOOR FR LH $680.35 H2101-0W0CF DOOR REAR, LH $680.08 76023-0W034 BODY-SIDE $741.60 $2102.03 USD and thats full Nissan list for new parts....salvage yard would be way less if you went that route. 4K in parts and paint seems.....on the high end to me. I think they must be factoring in a floor panel as well.... or a frame pull, that would be 4 hours labor by itself.
  8. 999U7-6D001 is indeed the transmitter number for the Pathfinder alarm system. The alarm systems were dealer installed accessories up to 1995. In 1996 Nissan started to build them into their sedans at the factory, the 96 and 97 hardbody were still add on accessory kits. (and yes AC was also an option back in the day) It sounds like to me that this is an aftermarket alarm system. As mentioned above, follow the wires and you will eventually find the control module.
  9. On the Hardbody Truck the AT control module is under the seat next to the ECU. On the Pathfinder it behind the panel next to the passenger side rear seat. And as Kingman said, it will not work.
  10. I used this on my truck: PART NUMBER 25073-RN010 Oil Pressure T Adaptor with 1/8 NPT threads. For use with mechanical gauge.
  11. how long have those plugs been in there?
  12. clean the wire harness connectors and make sure the wires are not broken. Mine did this and that was the remedy.
  13. The throttle body has coolant lines running to it. I would suspect the metal attachment point on the throttle body is cracked/rusted and leaking. There are many people on here who have bypassed this cooling line, you might do a search in the forums for it.
  14. Engine timing advanced/retarded too much. Bad engine temperature sensor. Bad catalytic converter.
  15. I concour with the above: 1) check the coolant system for air pockets by 'burping' the system, air will catch in the heater core and the higher points of the system. 2) Check coolant level is correct. 3) Thermostat stuck open-replace the thermostat 4) faulty/clogged watercock to the heater core. 5) clogged heater core Please do all the above with the engine cold!
  16. You cant run two independant alternators tied to the same system! you will fry both alternator regulators and probably all the electronics in the vehicle alnog with the wiring.
  17. I am a big fan of the extra 'armor' of a stacked plate.
  18. YES! Please replace all the upper and lower o-rings whenever you pull an injector out of the fuel rail. All WD21 Pathfinders with a VG engine use a black or blue injector. The color code is a dot on top of the injector, not the color of the plastic wire connector (usually pink). Dont mix and match injector colors.
  19. I recommend and personaly use the Magnaflow Cat as well.
  20. I agree with those that brought this up, check the wire first. As to an Oil pump on a VG...never seen that before. Very reliable.
  21. IMHO Replacing the Engine Temp Sensor is something everyone should do on a WD21 if it has not been done before. The ECU get a lot of information from that sensor. There are probably a lot of people out there driving around with a bad one/not functioning properly and dont know it.
