  1. I just did the mod a few weeks ago after spending a few months reading and I have to say it is totally worth it. I have noticed a decent improvement in millage - even after putting on one size bigger tires and with a small lift. From what I read there would be no real concerns for the transfer case and it seems that most people on the forum have done it.
  2. Nice on the tires and having waited 3 weeks for all the parts to get in I have to agree that it was the worst part!
  3. I just installed the manual hubs!!!

  4. With the stock tires and suspension they look big on the car so I was debating the same thing. I have the same car but now that I have the 31 tires it looks a lot better and they fit the car better.
  5. New tires. After a lot of thinking I got the Duelers (revo 2) and they are awesome. I will put up pics laster this week. We are working on the suspension. Putting int the OME lift and new shocks.
  6. Would anyone else consider a new xterra? The new engines are supposed to have a good output and they have more space and visibility that the FJ. The FJ is really great but I test drove one and I could not see anything that was not in a straight line. I would not like to imagine riding in the wild with so little visibility.
  7. I am in the process of getting my lift components and I found a tone of information here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7192. One thing that people seem to prefer is using the OME (very similar to OEM but actually meaning Old Man Emu) suspension. I ended up buying the parts from http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/. The guy that runs the site is a regular on the forum and was extremely helpful. Not to mention the 5% discount for being a member on the forum. He also has the coils for the back of the car so you can get everything in one place. I know that some of the posts are long but after 25 minutes of reading you will have a much better sense of what you want to do.
  8. Bought struts, shocks and sprigs. Technically, I did nothing to the car.
  9. Alright. I have bought all the parts. I will be getting things in the next couple of weeks and then we will put it all together. Thanks for all the NPORA collective! ps: will post pics of the install and the car pre and post
  10. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. I have never done this kind of thing but I here is to hoping. A quick question does the Struct Assembly come with the strut mounts and bearing? Sorry for the dumb questions. I am a newby!
  11. So the time has come. For the last year I have been reading and talking to people about the lift but it is time to do it. But I have a few questions: 1. Do I need Front leveling Trim Packer? I am thinking of buying from http://www.rocky-road.com/pathfindersus.html and they recommend that part 2. Which is the MD coils? OME921 or OME923? 3. Are the OME922 only for the back? 4. Apart from the 4x coils, 2x GR2 struts and 2x shocks do I need t buy anything else? 5. Should I replace the suspension before the tires? 6. I have a 97 SE with the original wheels and I am going to 31's (which are less than an inch bigger than the OEM tires) do I need the back spacers? I looked at http://www.davesport.com/ for but the prices are higher. I am buying the shocks and struts from https://www.partsgeek.com. Would much appreciate your input. I have been reading for a while and I have to say that the differences between the first and second gen R50 make me think there should be two different model numbers. Thank ya'll
  12. OK. I am doing it. I am getting new suspension! BUT I AM SO CONFUSED!

I was mostly scared. First car I ever modify.

  13. Thanks. That does sound logical? Just in the middle somewhere? I am assuming I want to miss the thread but everything else is fair game.
  14. This is probably REALLY basic for all of you but I changed the oil of a car for the first time. Everything when really smooth expect for the filter. Two of us fought with the thing for about an hour and could not get it to budge a hair. So I had to fill the oil again but I will have to take it in to get someone to take that thing off.
