  1. Yeah they do sound good at the higher rpms
  2. It's a noise suppressor works for the am band knocks down alt whine and spark noises
  3. The one we replaced last week on the 94 had 193.000 on it
  4. I paid $2.200 for my 94 last year and had to fly from So. Cal to Salt lake city and drive it home with a clutch slightly slipping, since then I put about a grand into it, clutch, starter. warn hubs, and the lego wheels
  5. At 19 volts you possibly blew a fuse link, that voltage is way to high
  6. Have you checked for frame rust ?
  7. I believe it's the handle to lower and raise the spare tire
  8. And here is what we did to the 94 today, yeah I know some are going to say they like the chrome rims better, but they were starting to peel. Caution don't let the wife parallel park with rims like these
  9. not that good of a pic here's one of the caution label
  10. Something else that will help, I've ground down a 14mm 3/8s socket so just the head of the bolt fits in it really helps on the top bolt, that way I don't have to pry anything out of the way to get the socket on the bolt head I also leave a 12 inch extension on the socket and use it to restart the bolt on the new starter. With a new starter on hand it can be replaced in less then a 1/2 hour total time
  11. use a needle fitting, or possibly grind down the fitting on the grease gun
  12. He meant idler arm, that's the only way to do it, I changed the 94s starter yesterday and I spent longer calling around to see if I could find one with the heat shield, or the threaded holes in the case to mount the heat shield then I did pulling and replacing the starter. I had a friend with a 90 pathy call me for help pulling his starter he was trying to lift it up by the frame rail and fuel filter, he'd been screwing with it for about an hour when he called I went over dropped the idler arm and slid it out the front and showed him how much easier it would be connecting the wires up doing it that way
  13. Picked up a sun/moonroof cover today at pickapart in burgundy will go nice in the 88 :wiggle:
  14. Replaced the starter on the 94 yesterday. Did the semi monthly pickapart run today picked up 3 lego wheels for the 94, rear carpet for the 88, and found a moon roof envelope in burgundy will go in the 88 I hadn't seen one of those in years, found a cherry front bumper for the 88 all it needed was paint. Carpet and bumper now on the 88. To do list is getting smaller 5 speed for the 88,a hood, 94/95 front door panels and possibly a 94/95 dash in the 88, 94 is pretty much finished, maybe a winch and a bumper for it
  15. After looking at those pics all I can say is I'm damn glad I live in So Cal
  16. dealerships will have them, I usually pick up a few spares when I hit the JY
  17. If you don't have a stethoscope try using a length of heater hose to pinpoint the whine
  18. on our 88 when we fill up here in cal the gauge will go to about 7/8s of a tank and the gas is at the filler, when we're in az or nv after 2 or 3 tank fills the crazy gauge will read full. I know we have crappy gas here in cal but that's ridiculous go figure
  19. I've got 4 between 25 an 50 miles, but dammit my weekend is all planned out for me
  20. When you do the tbelt think seriously about doing the waterpump also, and maybe the tensioner also. It's a little extra money, but since you don't know if they have ever been changed. It's a lot easier to change them when you do the tbelt, then it is 6 monthes or a year later
  21. Cleaned the squirrel cage on the blower motor of the 88 had a couple of leaves in it that I could here at lows blower speeds, pulled the blower resistor and checked for other leaves and stuff. Pulled the front bumper on the 94 and replaced the rusted bumper ends, sanded it all down and shot it with flat black, now the grill looked like crap so I pulled it and the side marker lights and hit them with the flat black also left the Nissan emblem off. DAMN it looks good
