Some Little Problems That Could Use An Experts Advice :)
SpecialWarr replied to Goosevf_1's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I'd mail you mine because I now have a truck that I can get under without having to jack the damn thing up to be able to fix something. But Canadian Tire is having a sale on this week for 2 ton jackstands with locking pins: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/michelin-2t-axle-stand-0090029p.html#.U8lC8pSrrm4 -
Junk Yard visit with questions
SpecialWarr replied to MxPathFinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
As far as the springs are concerned I'm not sure... but it seems to me that someone mentioned that almost any Jeep Grand Cherokee from '92-'96 front spring with the pigtails cut off will work for the lift, but that's in another post in The Garage section. The shocks can only be checked when they are off of the truck though. TO CHECK THEM: stand them upright in a corner for 24hrs ( to let he oil settle after removal), pull one out at a time to prevent disturbing the others and pull up while holding the bottom to the floor. If the shock shaft moves up the gas charge is blown and the shock is shot, if it doesn't push down 2-3 inches and pull up hard, if it comes up slowly all the way up it's probably good. If it comes up slowly then the last bit quickly the oil charge has leaked out past the piston and it's shot. To review: if there is constant resistance in both directions and through it's whole travel after having been left upright it should be good to go. -
Mmmmmmm.....I think that outer bearing is done.
-
Finally replaced the front wheel outer bearing! it only took 2 hours during my work day ( fortunately I arrived 1hr30min early and took ten minutes of lunch) and everything works perfectly so far!! Damn just wait until I get a photo of the remnants of the bearing!!!

Seafoam didn't change the color of my oil to a noticeable difference but it did make it thinner.

Thought about lighting it on fire then finding a cliff to drive off of but I really took a trip to Canadian Tire and spent $70 on ground straps, wires and brake cleaner. So instead of going on vacation I'll be fixing the Pathfinder.

Damn right.. it's not much good to me as a winter truck if the 4X4 don't work!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

The brake light on the dash might just be the switch at the handle that needs an adjustment ( more closed ). Is yours the lever or T-handle e-brake? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Ipulled out the angle grinder and spent three hours last night cutting off a 1/2" flange from the forward end of the cat. to get a solid connection from the headers back. I'm now unsure of whether the truck is idling or not....it's too quiet. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Replaced timing belt, now running rough

Yes that correct from what I've read on here as well. I suspect that a mixing of blue dot and black dot injectors might affect fuel mileage significantly since they likely have different spray patterns and are going to be varying the feedback loop from the O2 sesor with every pluse. That may just end up with one or two cylinders being run overly hot because of the compensation from the ECU.... I think. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
Bringing this tread from the dead: I call mine Ernest when he is acting nice, pos truck, the pos truck when something else is broken after spending the week fixing something after work. My friend Paco calls it the FixFinder and my fiancee calls it "your car"..... Precise1: here in Canada the WD21 was officially referred to as a SPECIAL PURPOSE by Transport Canada. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Soooooooo that meanas that mine is broken because all of the doors open on the first turn?? not that I care that much... really.

Looking for a tester - *NEW rear suspension spacers
SpecialWarr replied to fleurys's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I would love to have a set but my pathy needs more maintenance than tuning! Nice looking parts Steve!! (suddenly wishing that I had a Pathfinder that I could justify putting these on) -
Sweet! Thanks for the pointers SBB!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

So it's being suggested that leaving the A/T in Power versus Economy on the switch is the better of the settings? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Sorry, that's a habit of being an old car owner.... expect the worst, hope for the best! As for the grease lugs: that's common practice of a fall tune-up around the east- coast where I grew up and one I still practice in the spring as well! Fluids will be checked tomorrow morning/ lunch hour... sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
I took a bracket off of the rear driver's side valvecoverwireholder thingy that is directly in the way of the flange on #6 tube... damned pain once everything is on and in place. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Well welll, if I didn't just have a great weekend with some friends planned at the cottage. I ran my Pathfinder as the shuttle truck since everyone else is city-folk and have all of their cars riced up. Now that I've spent the weekend driving through 23-24" of water depth and several hundred feet of it......what kind of trouble should I expect from the Pathfinder?? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Got to pull an F-250 fourteen feet out of a ditch while the Pathy was up to the top of the hubs in water.... not sure what kind of nighmares await me after that little bit of fun!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Chain conversion kit.... interesting idea. . Anyone interested in such a thing for $300 with a tensioner? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
Wow... stable idle and vacuum readings... that's soooo weird!! Now for the Tension Rodz...

Finished the Pacesetter headers install last night.... F@&*ing retarded bracket on the rear of the block on the drivers' side does what?? Gets in the way, prevents exhaust stud from sitting in its hole at full depth and leaks exhaust gases into the air..... ripped that off after breaking 9 studs, installing new bolts and nuts on the ones that are still intact and there find another retarded lip after the cross-over pipe right in front of the O2 sensor that prevents a good seal...... GOD D$$mnit to H.... ...... deep breath..... dEEEpppp breath.... and now it's on with silicon seal and another appointment to rent-a-lift later this month to fix the last of it. 9 hours later... plus whatever time it's going to take to fix the second lip. Damn.... AND it was hotter than hell yesterday! Bonuses: more power, stable idle, stable vacuum and content that 90% of a major repair is done.... time for a scotch!

Yea there should be a tool under the rear seat (driver's side) that is a ridiculously long spark plug socket. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder
