That was seven hours before it peaked and held at its peaked level until Sunday night.... Dad thinks it might be a record high! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -

Sorry, that's a habit of being an old car owner.... expect the worst, hope for the best! As for the grease lugs: that's common practice of a fall tune-up around the east- coast where I grew up and one I still practice in the spring as well! Fluids will be checked tomorrow morning/ lunch hour... sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
I took a bracket off of the rear driver's side valvecoverwireholder thingy that is directly in the way of the flange on #6 tube... damned pain once everything is on and in place. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Well welll, if I didn't just have a great weekend with some friends planned at the cottage. I ran my Pathfinder as the shuttle truck since everyone else is city-folk and have all of their cars riced up. Now that I've spent the weekend driving through 23-24" of water depth and several hundred feet of it......what kind of trouble should I expect from the Pathfinder?? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Got to pull an F-250 fourteen feet out of a ditch while the Pathy was up to the top of the hubs in water.... not sure what kind of nighmares await me after that little bit of fun!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Chain conversion kit.... interesting idea. . Anyone interested in such a thing for $300 with a tensioner? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
Wow... stable idle and vacuum readings... that's soooo weird!! Now for the Tension Rodz...

Finished the Pacesetter headers install last night.... F@&*ing retarded bracket on the rear of the block on the drivers' side does what?? Gets in the way, prevents exhaust stud from sitting in its hole at full depth and leaks exhaust gases into the air..... ripped that off after breaking 9 studs, installing new bolts and nuts on the ones that are still intact and there find another retarded lip after the cross-over pipe right in front of the O2 sensor that prevents a good seal...... GOD D$$mnit to H.... ...... deep breath..... dEEEpppp breath.... and now it's on with silicon seal and another appointment to rent-a-lift later this month to fix the last of it. 9 hours later... plus whatever time it's going to take to fix the second lip. Damn.... AND it was hotter than hell yesterday! Bonuses: more power, stable idle, stable vacuum and content that 90% of a major repair is done.... time for a scotch!

Yea there should be a tool under the rear seat (driver's side) that is a ridiculously long spark plug socket. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Drove to the store took my fiancee back home and did some wheeling through a small construction zone on the next street over.... not too many happy people on that street!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

As discussed with Precise1 in another thread anywhere between 10 and 14 ohms is the correct resistance for a fuel injector..... what is with #5?? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Nice looking machine! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Intermittent injector pulse? I know that mine is off and on and not dependant on humidity, pressure or temperature. Vibration, maybe but we have roads that make dirt looks like glass so I can't tell..... either way I have noticed that ALL of the plastic housing, wrap and electrical tape are dry and crusty so I suspect either an intermittent ground or intermittent electrical contact in the wire itself.... and because I hate doing electrical work so that is another reason that it's probably an electrical issue... But that just me having a rant and not of any real diagnostic value!

MCM is soo funny....not much real help but fun anyway! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Can I install all of my WD21 parts on it? And just for kicks: how much for that beast?? sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Note: it lookslike Nissan skipped out on the relays for the headlights and routed full power through the stalk switch. Clean _all_ the corrision off of it and if that doesn't work it could be that the bulb socket itself maybe toast. sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Need help with 98 Pathfinder idle at stop
SpecialWarr replied to Leo98's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
The other usual suspects are the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the bad ground on the MAF. It seems to me that the IACV is supposed to be between 70-80 ohms. You might want to check that again. Not that I'm a mechanic or pathy expert! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder -
Picked up my Pacesetter headers and spare bolts! Gettin'psyched for the install!!! sent from under Ernest the Pathfinder

Thanks B... I would like to right now, but I have to wait for the weather to break.... it looks like its going to rain all week and I have to help my best man fix his roof this weekend so I'll have to be patient.... On the plus side, after the new intake gasket and throttle body gasket replacement the fuel consumption has dropped, gear changes are waaaayyy smoother when the trans is cold!! So intake leaks, tension rod bushings, Pacesetter header install and body work are left on my "To-Do" list!!

Ohhhhh.....that's a conveniently placed needle ...... it could be a one, it could be a six... I suspect some tomfoolery! ;-))
