It has been a while since I have visited NPORA, Were did everyone go. I have not been wheeling in ages. And I missed my Rubicon trip due to my Camini Idler Arm bushings Going to hell. (There is always next Year) Looks like many have either moved away, Broken Down, Or sold their Pathfinders. Anybody New to the forums to take their place? I have been suffering from lack of motivation and energy to work on any of my vehicles. I need a reason to get motivated, Anyone Plan on wheeling? Lets organized something!! Mark

It is still happening. However I just noticed a clunk in my front passenger wheel well. And I have not time to investigate it. Looks like I may have to pass this year and try and make it next year. Sucks. I am going to try and be someones Trail bitch for the trip though.

Yes that was I, I think I know which guys you were. I am interested in helping preserve the areas I enjoy wheeling. I just went camping up near longbarn and spent about 3 hours cleaning up after the a-holes that were there before us. I think Education is the first step. Mark

I have this for sale, http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=17113&st=0 I am in Manteca Not to far from you. It was installed on a 1991 pathfinder Look forward to some wheeling with you. We keep losing wheelers to the area. With enjoi breaking cv joints and sc88 frying transmissions and slick moving out of state there has been few people to go wheeling with, SNIFF SNIFF -

Basically we get a reprieve until 2011. We have until this time to show progress in the cleanup and keeping it clean department. Here are some ways to keep it clean pack your human waste out. clean up any and all oil spills. "If you pack it in" then "Pack it out" and then some. Always try and remove more garbage than you bring in. Stay on the trail as much as possible. I have never wheeled it but have plans to go this august. I also have plans to help out in the cleanup this july Mark

Here is the info, I think this is what he is talking about http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=747750 I just got my HAM radio license through Friends of the Rubicon. I thought I would repay that with a few hours of my time doing cleanup, Not that I need an excuse to help but I feel more obligated since they spent so much time with us helping us get our license. I will be going to the one July 18-19

Ok, to set the record straight. The Guys we met in Hollister bought this pathfinder from the guys who did this in this video for $172.58 (it was all they could scrape up between the four of them). It did not run when they bought it, they towed it to their ranch right around the corner from Hollister hills. however all they did to get it running again was charge the battery replace the alternator and it fired right up. The guys who bought it are using it around there property to move things around and do other chores with it. ranch right around the cornet from Hollister hills. The Pathfinder still runs to this day. If we had actually met the Aholes who did this we certainly would not have been as civil as we were to them. Mark -
I see your point. However even cheesy cards is better than handing a person some illegible chicken scratch that I would write down on a napkin to let them know about a forum they could use to learn about there truck. I have told people about the forum and tried to give them the name to look up on their computer. Always ends in confusion and never seen them join the forum. It is up to the members to decide whether they want to hand them out. I guess we could try handing them out and if it starts to yield negative input we could stop.

Personally I was thinking of giving it to the person. I generally do not have much time to chat with people when I am out so a quick card to give to someone would be great. I also thought about putting them on their truck but I don't like flyers on my truck, and I have thought though it someone put something like a club I would be interested in that would be cool. However some people look at there pathfinders as just a means of transportation and could care less about a club, so to those people it would be just like the spam flyers. Unfortunately there is no way to know what type a person they are until you chat with them. so I would be in favor of giving them the card, and just say " I notice you drive a pathfinder. there is a online forum with a lot of info, in case your interested" These cards if used the wrong way could negatively effect the club if they are viewed as spam put on someones windshield. I would probably only leave a card on a truck if it was an obvious offroader. But I think they are all already a member LOL
-
Not sure if this has been brought up before but it should have been. I have often wanted to notify other pathfinder owners of the forums existence. I think maybe some pre-made business cards that us members can print out and give to others would be a great way to boost the forums renown and increase membership. Who wants to volunteer to make some kick ass cards. maybe add in that even if you do not offroad it is a great place to learn about your truck and possibly fix things yourself, or at least be informed so you don't get screwed by a mechanic. I don't know just an idea ,but I have no idea how to word it to put it on a card. What do you guys think? Mark

I actually have the sales brochure from 1992. I will take a look and post up what is shows for colors. Mark

I usually do not put any kind of stickers on my vehicles. I don't like giving free advertising to products. If they gave me a discount on the product that would be a different story. However a NPORA sticker I would proudly sport on my truck. Let me know on the stickers, when they are ready. Mark

I wont hesitate to toss in some more $$$ if it is needed. so if funds start getting low just shoot a message out and I am sure they will be another round of donations from all of us

I was working on my other truck (not a nissan) and was gutting the interior. A buddy of mine gave me a link to some stuff that is like lizard skin except much cheaper like $15 a gal. Was wondering if anyone has used it and if it works. http://www.lizardskin.com/pages/videos.php

if i understand him correctly this would repair the key way so the pulley would still be removable. using a brass key and welding would alow him to weld in the shape of the grove cause the weld would not stick to the brass. so he is not welding the key into the key way just repairing the keyway. I am not sure if this repair will last as welding the crankshaft will probably create weak points in the metal and probably cause a future failure. But Hey it is worth a try.

The kit I got you had to cut the fuel filler hose in half and put the metal piece in between the 2 pieces of cut hose and clamp it with the provided clamps. Most trucks have enough room in the steering shaft to extend for the body lift. However you have to get the shaft to move a little from each side (split the difference) to be safe.

Just Made My donation, Keep up the great work. It is a small price to pay for all the guidance and money I saved doing it myself. Mark

there is a difference between stuck in the sand and on top of the sand. I think he ment On Sand. Not stuck in sand. Relax. Guys.

that is not necessarily a definitive test. you could have lsd with worn out clutches. However the fact that you do not have a sticker and when you spin the wheel the other one goes opposite direction are 2 answers that point to No LSD. yes your sticker could have come off and yes your clutches could be worn out, but the chances of both I think are slim. To be safe you could put the LSD additive in, It wont hurt anything if you are open diff. in regards to your test in the desert with no resistance to either wheel , both wheels will spin, so that test is a bit flawed
