Best song that suits your Pathy
devonianwalk replied to Terranovation's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
My wheeling buddies would tell you just the xylophone part from the Looney Toons theme song. But, I'd say it's the whole song. -
The Newly Lifted Pathfinder
devonianwalk replied to SpeedyGreeney's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Keen eye on the wheel weights. At least they are black. I had to hand paint all of mine (31x10.5x15") with black touch-up paint from my Miata. Looks really good though. I must get those tires!! -
Make sure to spring for the "off road" package. Hey, at least you are keeping it in the family. The WD guys hate(d) the R50's at first. Now they want our power plants.

Our local recycling centers have special bins for used oil filters and bottles. I always toss mine in the correct place. Then, I go home and kill mother earth with harsh chemicals to keep the weeds growing around my well pump.

Found a fantastic QX4, I am in LOVE!
devonianwalk replied to gv280z's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
There is a local add for an '03 Q that is asking $7,500. I think that is a good deal you found there! .... wait a minute .... Danger is licking your hair? Are you at work or did you take Danger home with you?? -
Where in the hell is the rear diff fill plug?
devonianwalk replied to headpeace's topic in 2005-2012 R51 Pathfinders
This is usually where I admit to drinking too many cold ones. -
Double check the "tail light" fuse. That is usually the culprit fuse as the dash lights are tied into that circuit.

Does 4.0 make a whining noise from the engine? Heres why
devonianwalk replied to byob's topic in 2005-2012 R51 Pathfinders
$1,200? Dang. -
Changing transfer fluid... turkey baster?
devonianwalk replied to Slartibartfast's topic in The Garage
I use the el'cheapo transfer pump to drain the diffs and the one liter bottle with a twenty four inch length of vacuum hose to refill. It takes time but, it's not really too bad. -
What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
devonianwalk replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
Used it to drag my Jeep project to a friends house to weld the spider gears in the rear axle. I do get funny looks when I'm towing a big lifted Jeep with a tough little Japanese SUV. -
t belt whining, will go away right ?
devonianwalk replied to stabworthy's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Mine had a fairly audible whine that went away after a couple of weeks of regular driving. They should put a notice/warning ticket for this in the original timing belt packaging. -
2003 taillight swaped into my 97
devonianwalk replied to thorpe991's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
It does look good. I noticed the matte red trim on mine as well. -
That is a pretty cool looking rig you have there! You know this community well enough to know that you are always welcome here. Feel free to help new posters to their questions about past issues that you have dealt with and stay in touch man!

This could be a candidate for the "pics from PO's" thread. (I don't know the answer to your question)

Loose bolts= Free, easy fix! Water pump = "Might as well change the TB while you're in there.
-
Same here. I've always learned more with my hands than by reading books and manuals.
-
Sounds like a plan! I like these situations if my primary ride doesn't depend on the outcome.
-
Yep. That's normal.

At this point, I'd check for spark and fuel pressure (or "at the rail" .. like you stated). After that, I'd check for compression between the cylinders for a head gasket failure. Then again, come to think of it, hopefully the engine didn't overheat and warp the aluminum head if there is a compression failure.

What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
devonianwalk replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
Watched it wizz by me in the other lane with Mrs.DVW driving by. Man, I have a nice looking Pathy!! -
Nice to hear from you again! I picked up a '76 CJ5 back in July and use it as my toy now. I have found that I have more fun riding around town with the windshield down than I do off roading with it. I do get a lot of waves from other Jeepers. So .. no "hate" from me or my beloved R50.

Mechanical Locker for Rear
devonianwalk replied to nathanholtgrewe's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Yeah ... this ^^^ -
Definitely keep the color!! You have a very rare truck in America. You are making us jealous!!

A good buddy of mine moved up to PA a few years ago. Sold his "southern" two wheel drive Toyota truck for a PROFIT because of the lack of rust. Maybe I should start buying used 4x4's locally on the cheap and selling them up there ..
