  1. Trying not to laugh as I too found out the hard way. *sigh* *edit .. You must have the transmission in the "neutral" position when going into 4-lo (the info is on the back of the drivers side sun visor)
  2. Might be some truth to that. The facelifts did move up to a 16" wheel .. *edit .. then again, I have retrofitted 15" steelies on mine. I ended up having to shave the corners of the calipers when I had the brake pads replaced.
  3. I believe so. I've fitted various suspension parts off of a '96 Pathy (j/y find) on to my '99.5. The major changes were merely cosmetic.
  4. From what I've read, the wiring harness is in place regardless if the fog/driving lights were installed on the factory line. I want to recall that the harness is either green or brown? Either way, I would be more curious if the fuse was installed if the option for the lights were available.
  5. I'll give you $800 for it today. That would be doubling your money!! Sounds like you got a really great deal. Hope everything works out for ya.
  6. No problem. Most regulars just call me DVW. When I first mounted my rims they fit within a Gnat's behind. Two years later, I had to replace my brake pads and they didn't fit!! Thankfully, my buddy is a professional mechanic at a local garage and he made the decision to "kiss" the edges with a grinder. So, it would seem to me that you still have a lot of life left on your brake pads!!
  7. Yep, these wonderful trucks have "bottomless" tanks.
  8. I too like the plati dip paint job you did. I might consider doing the same to the lower half of mine.
  9. I don't remember turning mine before the install. They do have a lot of resistance once installed though.
  10. Check your engine grounds? Oh, and welcome to the Nippo family!
  11. Wow. I have the same odor and have only attempted half (if not less than) of what you've tried for fixing my problem. It might be a long shot but, have you removed the fuel pump access panel located under the rear seat to check the fuel lines? I hope you figure it out and post your findings here. I need to tackle this issue.
  12. I wish we had some local trails. All I have around me is some small mud bogs. That is some clear looking water by the way .. I'd like to take my kayak around that lake.
  13. They fit if you kiss the outer corners of your calipers. They fit without any modification of the drums. At least that is what I had to do.
  14. I'll bet the springs will give you lift and, I'm dang sure they'll sriffen the ride quality. Take measurements from the center of the hub to the wheel well before and after the swap. I'd like to know what kind of lift you just scored.
  15. Yep. However, the arm for the jack is not strapped down. It is held in place with the white clips. A high jack requires strong mounting points on the body or bumpers. The only way to use one on our R50's is to have an off-road bumper and rock sliders welded in place.
  16. I deleted my resonator years ago. I too had the pipe cut off just after the muffler hanger and experienced a little heat. I went to the local U-Pull-It with the intention of snagging a "new to me" system and ended up randomly scoring a cat back exhaust system off of an older R50. I wish I could tell you the brand of muffler but, I never saw a stamped brand name on it. It does have a nice low end note to the sound without the "drone" at highway speeds.
  17. Manual locking hubs on the front? I'd go for the shocks as they may be longer than stock to support the springs. That is all I can think of anyway .. nice find!
  18. This is my philosophy on life. Of all the things that we can die of; stress will not be the one!
  19. Totally agree. Way to "beefy" looking. That thing has a spring lift.
  20. Too bad there aren't any pics of you in the drink. That looks pretty impressive man! Good luck on the clean up.
  21. Trust me. Mud sucks! It looks so easy to play in.
  22. Mine is impact tight. I'm absolutely sure I'll get blasted for that but, two years of daily driving and all is still holding together. Mine is an auto transmission. The impact was strong enough to "bang" (or is it "hammer" ) the nut off. I bought my air compressor just for this job. Money well spent as I use it all the time.
