  1. There is an idle air control valve, yes. Have you checked the ECU error codes?
  2. Not on a R50. R50's have drive flanges that are always locked, basically.
  3. Have someone else move the steering wheel back and forth for you while you inspect the steering parts. It should be fairly evident where the slop is. The idler arm could have shot bushings.
  4. Get a shop to install it for you. It will be easier, neater and there will be less guesswork on your end. It doesn't generally cost that much.
  5. I don't think there's much use posting warnings if you can't buy anything from him anymore, eh?
  6. Most Japanese vehicles don't have them, AFAIK it has something to do with driving responsibly.
  7. My Pathy key has unlocked a HB and another Pathy locally. It's scary sometimes...
  8. Actually, rebuilding CV's is both cheap and easy. I've done mine twice for around $20 each. It just takes the time and effort to do it.
  9. Spacers would work. New coils would be a bit better, but on a budget that'd be OK.
  10. Just so you guys know, Lee doesn't have anything to do with Phil anymore. Phil is on his own on this one.
  11. Stock is 70 amps. A 90 amp alternator is a 20 amp increase. Just so you know. You can also swap pulleys yourself if you have a v-belt strap wrench like I have from Harbor Freight. Good write-up!
  12. I have a 95 rear bumper on my 88. They interchange. Three bolts per side and voila...done. Use lots of PB Blaster, the old bolts tend to be VERY tight or rusted on.
  13. There are differences, mostly dash design and electrical.
  14. The more, the merrier!
  15. Paper is cheap and black ink for a printer isn't that much. Print one section at a time until you have them all done.
  16. First thing that comes to mind is MAF sensor wiring. Check the codes, the ECU will store error codes even if the light isn't on fulltime.
  17. Yeah, if the crank is off by one tooth it will do that to you. It's hard to figure these things out sometimes.
  18. The build plate under the hood will tell you what the original gearing is. It will have either a "HG43" or a "HG46" next to "Axle Code". There aren't any diff covers to pull to count teeth, if you hadn't noticed...
  19. Do they stay on after it dries out?
  20. Have you had them rotated lately? They should wear flat on the rear unless something's really bent. The fronts are notorious for wearing out on the inside edges unless you keep the alignment perfect.
  21. Eeh, some are, some aren't. I've seen autos with 4.3 gears and manuals with 4.6 gears.
  22. I don't think there's anything to plug into unless you get adapter plugs that go where the stock ECU wiring plugs into it.
  23. Ask the seller for measurements of both coil height and wire thickness. You need at least 17" tall and .56" wire thickness.
  24. Should be fine. If something breaks, it would have broken in stock form anyway.
