    HELP!

    If you're going to pull the knuckle off, just get it into a position where you can work on it and try some more. It'd be ridiculous trying to do the same job in a junkyard, don't you think? Spendy, too...
  2. Have you checked your battery's voltage and the alternator's output? That's the first step in this problem...get a voltmeter and use it. Or go to an auto parts store and ask them to test it for you.
  3. I've had to do numerous eyeball alignments in parking lots and on the side of gravel roads. It works well enough to get me home. I even eyeballed the number of washers to shim my UCA's out with and got it dead even on both sides. The tire/alignment shop said it was very close to stock as it sat. Heh.
  4. When I had my BFG's I ran them white-letter-side-out. I don't think the LTB's come with white letters.
  5. I much prefer the sporty look of white letters out. It's classic!
  6. All of the bolts come out. Like I said, they're recessed under the carpet except for the very front and very rearmost bolts...
  7. Once again, simply installing UCA's does not lift the vehicle. Cranking up the t-bars lifts it. The UCA's simply account for the increased angle on the balljoints, except in the case of the AC UCA's, which are so close to stock it doesn't make much difference.
  8. Loosen up the other bolts and try lifting the body up or down a little more so you have wiggle room.
  9. Probably, yeah. I just tried to check coverages available to me and they simply didn't offer full/comprehensive at all, citing the age of the vehicle. You can get full coverage on older financed vehicles, though. Go figure.
  10. Oh, please. Sorry to seem teacher-ish, I was just surprised to see them called that, that's all. No harm, no foul, no worries. We all know what's being discussed.
  11. That's not a bad idea if you have a drill and drillbit...freeze it to make the rubber hard, then drill a bunch of holes around the spindle in the rubber. That'll remove a lot of material and still not make too much of a mess. I've always just used a propane torch to get mine out. Lay it on the ground with the torch aimed at the rubber and let 'er burn for a good bit. When the rubber starts to swell out of the socket on both sides of the UCA, turn off the torch and scrape some off, then hit it with heat again. Works great, it just makes a stinky mess. Maybe you could just plain take a little trip somewhere vacant and burn it out away from home?
  12. Or the pivot on the pedal could be sticking under the dash. You don't have your floormat squished up under the pedal, do you? I had that happen once on my friend's 5.0 Mustang...it would stick terribly until we pulled the floormat back.

    Horror stories, you mean? Nope. I've heard of a few people breaking rear axles(just an axleshaft, not the gears), Slick has fragged a front diff somehow, but otherwise they're damn strong. Slick! How could you say that about diff covers?!? You should know as well as anyone that both diffs in a V6 Pathy are centersection diffs with no cover!
  14. Who told you they were called "collision rods"? They're either tension rods or compression rods. And yes, we know. Poly bushings are a good fix, I have mine.
  15. I cannot buy full coverage for mine if I wanted to. They simply won't offer it on an older vehicle. Go figure.

    I know what you mean, mine has the same kind of slop to it, but it's always been that way. I think the driveshaft has about 1/4" total play in it. When I put the locker in, that worried me, so I took the centersection back out to check it and apparently they're just set up that way, the ring/pinion are fine.
  17. I'd use the chrome wheels, and there are no studs on the body bolts...the other end of the bolt is recessed in the floor. You have to pull up the carpet to swap bolts.

  19. Oh oh oh. Well, then you'd only need knuckles and axles and steering and everything else. The C200 isn't meant to be used as a steering axle...
  20. Yep, the 2.4's have a chain and the guides wearing out are a known problem.
