Have someone else move the steering wheel back and forth slowly while you watch the steering parts move. The ones with slop in them will be fairly easy to spot. This doesn't work as well on balljoints, but you get the idea.

The switch for the 4x4 light is on the t-case. If the shifter lever moves to the 2WD position, there is no way for the t-case to "stick" in 4WD. It moves or it doesn't. The hubs are the sticking point.

Alpine USA makes a Frontier/X/Pathy 3.3 SC kit too, they run about $3400 IIRC.

Don't buy the AC lift kit, the UCA's aren't designed right. I'd go with a Rough Country UCA set up front and a pair of any lift coils you like for the rear. New shocks and a SS from 4wheelparts.com and you're golden for some good wheeling. The CV's won't be a problem as long as you don't crank up the t-bars too much. They don't spin in 2WD anyway.

They both work fine. The Quest one fits a little better, IMHO. I have one of the Taurus fans in my garage.

There are 9004 kits out there, most require rewiring at a minimum. You will also lose your high beam headlights, just so you know.

Use a longer screwdriver, the heads on those screws are round anyway. The relay for the fogs is on the firewall on the passenger's side. Purple, yellow, green and black wires. Fuse is next to the battery.

As long as the welds are solid, I see no problem with four wheelstands as described being used to hold up a vehicle. They're a LOT more stable than any regular jackstand.

The only problem I foresee is finding room for all those coolers and hoses. The simpler it is, the easier it is to fix later if something decides to leak on you.

AC has always been an instigator and a reactionary company with poor service and shipping history. Jim joined their forum a long time ago and tried telling people about NPORA, the mods dissed him and put down NPORA without even giving him a chance, so he left. I was a very active member of their forum (over 2000 posts, IIRC) until I wanted to talk about Calmini and L&P and other companies, at which point the mods AND Jane both told me to basically shut up and be a good little AC boy or else. I didn't shut up, so they banned me. After that one of the mods changed my profile to say "Child Molester". They even threatened me with legal action, which is pointless. Point of the story is, don't buy from AC if you don't have to. They're worthless people and they only want to generate business for themselves, even at the expense of alienating other Nissan owners.
