  1. Dude. It's paint. Flat is flat looking and gloss is shiny. Go figure. Do what you want with your vehicle! Experiment a little.
  2. The part number is different. Call or visit your local Nissan dealer for the part numbers.
  3. The information I posted above tells IN GREAT DETAIL how to use and tune your CB antenna.
  4. A VG30DETT will not fit into a Pathy's engine bay without MAJOR reworking of the fenderwells and firewall. Too wide, too many different accessories. It's been thought of before, and only one person's ever done it...to a HB pickup. It was in France by some rich dude. http://www.geocities.com/jpvmlichttotobal/300ZXKingCAb.html
  5. Yes. This subject has been covered many times before. They fit OK on the steel 6" rims, best fit is with the 7" aluminum Lego wheels.
  6. Outer tie rods dry? Inner steering knuckle CV joint seals dry? Dunno, there are a LOT of things rotating under there that could make it squeak. Try attacking any offending or suspicious-looking joints with WD-40 or a penetrating lubricant. Do NOT spray anything on the brakes.
  7. The thing on the rear diff is for the ABS system. Let me check around and see what I can find, sorry to have misled you about the info in the FAQ if it isn't in there. It's a big post... The ECU codes are run by manipulating the ECU itself. There IS a sticky post about that one at the top of the Garage forum.
  8. Exactly. You can spray the crud out of the TB no problem, just don't spray the MAF down near the aircleaner box. I'd also look for loose or corroded wiring at the distributor, MAF and throttle switch, etc. Unplug them all and check for corrosion inside the connectors. Check the ground for the MAF and the distributor.
  9. I just use gloss black spraypaint. No idea on the factory coatings, but it seems to me that they wouldn't use anything special. Probably just plain black paint.
  10. Yep, that's about it. I'd buy a Chilton's or Haynes book just to have on hand as well.
  11. Unplug it? The wiring is underneath the console... Mine doesn't have a shift lock, couldn't say exactly how or where. Sorry.
  12. Yeah, but I won't get hung up on rocks and stuck!
  13. You don't have to "rip the dash apart" to remove the guage cluster. It takes about six or eight screws and half an hour's time. I think the voltage regulator on the back of your guages has died. The speedo on 93-95 Pathfinders is electronically driven, not cable driven, so it's definitely an electrical problem. Does the fuel guage work still or not? This problem has been covered in the "Pathfinder Common Problems and Fixes" sticky thread at the top of the Garage forum...
  14. This has already been covered and included in the "Pathfinder Common Problems and Fixes" sticky thread at the top of the Garage forum. Here's a recent thread covering the subject... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1396 Go read!
  15. Yeah, like 8 or so for sand. 12 is too high for my tires, FWIW.
  16. Compared to the equivalent made of steel...steel=110-150 lbs. Alu=50 lbs. What do you think would be a problem with using alu as opposed to steel? It doesn't "slide" as well as steel? I call BS on that idea, after having used it on more than one thing for skid/sliding purposes. Let me see here...3/8" is the equivalent of 9.525 mm. Sound good to you?
  17. Full front bellypan made from 3/8" thick aluminum plate with an access hole for the oilpan drainplug. It'll cover the front diff, oilpan, exhaust, tranny pan and transfer case fully. The stock skidplate will go on TOP of the new one, and the stock transfer case skidplate will be removed completely. Yeeee-ha. Pics coming soon...
  18. I could easily build a fuel injected Chevy 350 (or a 400, mmmm even better...6.6 liters baby) that will get better gas mileage than my stock Pathfinder 3.0 V6. It'd also have twice the power, three times the torque and parts are readily/cheaply available at any parts store. Problem is, I don't have the initial layout on hand to undertake such a project. It wouldn't take much, really it wouldn't.
  19. I left the hoop off. It's not worth much anyway.
  20. Jeez, no wonder! Good find!
  21. The costs involved would be horribly high. It wouldn't make sense unless you had more money than sense. Way too complicated, way too many parts needed, way too much trouble.
  22. Some liquids are more compressable than others, but all gases are to a degree.
  23. Yep. Installed mine, never had any issues afterward. Simple stuff.
  24. If you live in Cali then it's also a no-no to swap in a larger V6 from a different manufacturer. Isn't it?
  25. Yup. I can't think of any ways to use a cone filter AND a snorkel. The cone filter is one-ended, know what I mean?
