  1. Hey, if it doesn't do it anymore, it could simply have been a bit wet, or something shifted a bit so it wasn't in the same place. Dunno. If it does it any more (constantly) then it's time for a new one, but it's not really a crucial wear item that needs to be replaced immediately. If you can stand the noise, it'll last a while , but keep in mind that it will need replacing eventually.
  2. How were you running NO oil cooler after replacing the radiator? Did you loop the ends of the cooler lines together, or what? The idea baffles me.
  3. Yep. You can use a larger oil filter with the relocation kit, which uses a Ford #1 oil filter that typically holds about a quart of oil. The stock filter holds about 1/4 quart at most. Makes for better engine cooling via oil delivery and increased oil capacity, as well as increased ability for better filtration of the oil. Run an in-line oil cooler and you've got the makings of a professional oil system.
  4. Your drums rusted THROUGH? That's a new one on me. Drums are almost 1/2" thick. Are you sure it's not just surface rust? If is isn't, I wanna see pics! BTW: mine were $75 each brand new. I was getting quotes of $100 each from most places, actually. Good for you for finding drums for $60!
  5. Tell your wife it's not your fault, it came that way, a new steering wheel from Nissan will cost $$$$$$$$$$, and she should deal with it.
  6. Heh heh Put 33x12.50's up next to your 31's and see how "big and meaty" they look after that. Here's mine next to a stock Pathy with 31's.
  7. Get your charging system checked and tested. Something's wrong with it. Also, if your temp guage tells you it's overheating, don't continue driving on it! I've seen pistons actually have bits melted off them from overheating. It's NOT pretty, and it's NOT cheap to fix a blown engine due to overheating.
  8. He'd have to remove the front CV axles to do that. Lots of luck!
  9. So start a new topic on fog light wiring. This one is for tranny mods. Duh.
  10. Clear replacements are like $29 a pair brand new. Check out clearlights.com or something like that for the clear ones.
  11. Yeah. It should be OK. Just noisy.

    Engine Mods

Same block, different equippage. Newer Pathys have dual cats right behind the stock exhaust manifolds that prevent using headers unless you replace the cats, o2 sensor housings, and everything. It'd be a major PITA to move, remove or replace everything on an R50 JUST to get headers to fit.
  13. Clutch throwout bearing or pilot bushing. To fix that, you'll have to take out the transmission and replace the clutch. Fun!
  14. Compared to: Roughly translated: "Team Poop Right Where Everyone Usually Walks And Is Most Likely To Get it On Their Shoe"
  15. I have some on mine. They get in the way of the side mirrors, but otherwise are good.

    Engine Mods

Dude, the guy built a 3.4L out of a 3.3 block using 300ZX crank and rods, custom Infiniti Q45 pistons with custom ported heads, performance cams, full headers, exhaust and full ECU upgrade. I'd expect about that much from that kind of engine. It's a LOT of money to throw at a mild V6, though...but hey, whatever makes you happy.
  17. Yeah, Synchromesh has a metallic additive in it, I think. It stinks to high heaven, I know that much...
  18. The 96-up gas caps have a reputation for not sealing properly and causing the ECU to think the fuel system is leaking vapors from the cap, thereby causing the Check Engine light to come on. It's in there somewhere, I think. I'll make sure. edit: Added info to "Pathfinder Common Problems, Check Here First" sticky post in The Garage.
  19. Er, you can adjust the TPS so it doesn't sense your pedal going down quite so early. They're all adjustable like that, I think.
  20. Dude, that's really wierd. It sounds like the wiring for the brake light switch on the pedal and the wiring for the running lights are spliced together somewhere. Has someone put an aftermarket alarm, trailer brakes or anything like that in it? Wierd fog light wiring? Anything like that?
  21. Chromotech, what in the hell are you talking about?
  22. TPS doesn't have anything to do with trans temp. Get an aftermarket tranny cooler before your transmission kisses you goodbye.

    LSD

No no no. That's an OPEN diff that spins one tire one way and the other the opposite direction. In a LSD equipped axle both tires will spin the same direction. The stock Nissan LSD works OK for a while but they tend to loosen up after you put some mileage on the vehicle. I've seen old LSD's spin one tire before repeatedly.
