  1. Just unclip the lines, take them all off the fenderwells and let them hang. That's how you do it.
  2. Yep, people have been having good luck getting rid of gear noise with refilling the trans to the proper level with new gear oil.
  3. I'd inspect the brake calipers to make sure the slide pins aren't sticking. A off-and-on sticking caliper might do that to you.
  4. There are only like four pieces to put in with the auto hubs...I just took off a set not too long ago.
  5. Oh, on the two-bucket method, I forgot. You can use one bucket for the output of the tranny fluid, but the new fluid has to be put back in through a funnel on the tranny fluid check stick tube.
  6. Rodeos never had two doors. Amigos did, though. Mine's been repeatedly mistaken for a 4Runner, that's about it. I just point at the Nissan tags and tell 'em Nissan doesn't make 4Runners, Toyota does.
  7. Boycott shampoo! We want the REAL poo!
  8. If it were constantly retarding your timing, probably.
  9. The power light flashing means there is an error code stored in the TCU and you have something wrong with your tranny. There's a How-To in here on how to check it.
  10. Knock sensor's under the intake manifold. REAL PITA to get to.
  11. I fail to see what the problem is. Mine runs just above center of the gauge when hot too.
  12. For ignition, you can get Direct Hits, MSD, Crane, Accel, whatever your heart wishes. It's just a PITA to hook up ignition boxes with the funky stock coil/transistor ignition. In most cases an adapter is needed to make the tach work afterwards. The Direct Hits dealies are cool, you plug one onto each spark plug and then the plug wires onto that and run it. Easy install. They work, just not as well as a real multiple spark discharge ignition. There's only one place you can get an ECU upgrade, so I guess it's just up to you whether you want to spend $500 to reprogram your ECU and get 15 HP out of it. The $$ to HP ratio is high there.
  13. It only takes one hub not working to do what you've described. That one axle will just sit and spin and spin and spin inside the hub without catching, thus negating the other axle and preventing it from getting any power. Better pull 'em off and check the guts...
  14. I don't think R12 is still available. All the recharge kits have 134a in them.
  15. If there's any excess inside it'll squirt out anyway. It just kinda makes a mess, but it's not bad. I give 'em a few squirts until I see the boot start to swell a little, then quit. On the bearings, take a large glob of wheel bearing grease and plop it into your open palm. Drop a bearing on top and work the grease into the bearing. Don't just smear it on the outside of the rollers and cage. It needs grease completely filling any gaps inside the cage between the rollers too. Fortunately, that's fairly easy to do with your hands and a lot of grease.
  16. Rolling over and just tipping onto your side is a bit different.
  17. Yeah, you have to hold onto the door cause it'd whack into the ground otherwise.
  18. Sand Lake is on the coast near Tillamook. Where you gettin this "eastern Oregon" idea?
  19. Yes. They only made one kind of TBI for all the VG30i's.
  20. I think you need to make up your mind about whether you want to drive a 4-wheeler or a road car. If you lift it and run bigger tires, you have to expect poor mileage and tougher hill climbs. 16-17 with 33's is fantastic mileage for a Pathy.
  21. Yup. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...t=0entry55549 These are the stock Nissan LED strips. 34 LED's per row, all substandard 1992 issue. Bleh. My digicam doesn't even change f-stop for them. Here are the new LED strips I put together. Note that the camera darkened the rest of the picture noticeably to compensate for the brightness of the LED's.
  22. Or take a closer look at your plug wire for that plug. It may be arcing to the head from a crack in the insulation. Spark plugs by themselves do not make noises.
  23. They go pretty far. That curb is a far cry from tipsiness. Are you a man or a mouse?
