  1. So I just finished up all the mechanical components of my swap, now on to wiring. Electrical components\problems are definitely my weakness, I started by cutting the two wires at the park sensor switch on the actual shifter and twisting them together with a wire nut. After reading the above posts I realized I'll definitely have to do a lot more, could anyone sum this up for an eletrically challenged structural engineer?
  2. So I was finishing up my MT swap when I realized (from another post) that I have to use the Tcase out of my 95 for my speedo to work. The Tcase that came mated with the MT is out of a 91, so no go. I got the Tcase off the 95 auto tranny in about 20 minutes. I tried to remove the MT Tcase while under the truck and there was just no way I could seperate it from the tranny. So I just went ahead and pulled the tranny+tcase back out. Is there any trick to breaking the seal between the Tcase and tranny? I wrapped a tow strap around the tcase, stood the tranny up and tried to lift the tcase off the tranny with my engine crane and it just wont budge, the whole setup just lifted into the air. Any ideas?
  3. I've given up on being green. Being green is the reason gas costs so much in the first place.
  4. Did you keep the rest of the exhaust system stock? I'm in the middle of a manual transmission swap and I just replaced my header seals because they were leaking. I did a much better job this time so they should be leak free. From the o2 sensor back I'm running a 2.25" pipe with no Cat through a Flowmaster Series Muffler. The best option for saving gas is to not buy gas anymore. Convert you Pathy's to run Liquid Propane Gas (LPG). This is big in Australia: http://www.pcoa.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2654&sid= http://forums.overlander.com.au/viewtopic....558481bca8ed66e A gallon of LPG is around $2.85
  5. I also forgot to mention the tranny fluid looks and smells almost new.
  6. I've posted about this before but it wasn't a serious issue for me because I had a company truck at the time. I took a new job and lost the truck and I'm driving the Pathy daily again. When I shift into reverse nothing happens, but sometimes if I'm patient enough I can hold the shifter between park and drive just right and it engages. When I do this it shifts into reverse like nothing is wrong, no slipping, grinding, etc. I replaced the linkage cable and have tried adjusting it over and over but no dice. I have read that when reverse is gone its gone, is that the case or is my tranny just slowly failing? If it is over I'm going to swap a manual tranny in its place.
  7. Reverse is gone, I got it to work for awhile by adjusting the shifting cable but its nonexistent now. Where should I take it and how much money am I looking at for a quality job?
  8. Will the starter off a 93' 2WD auto pathy work in my 95 4x4 auto? They look the same but I just want to be sure...trying to save money right now and I know the one off the 93' works..
  9. I bought some springs from HarryChest. He is good to do business with and accommodating with canadian buyers. Thanks!

  10. Ive had Thorleys on my 95 for over 3 years and they have hardly changed color at all, there is a little rust forming at the joint connection under the tranny. The rust is from me originially welding it together with a crappy wire feed welder. My Mig kit arrives at the end of the week, Ill be re-welding it shortly. From what Ive read and seen I think the Thorleys are more than worth the extra money, just my .02.

    Speakers

I was giving my pathy a rest and driving around an old camry with a crappy CD player, so I borrowed the good one from the pathy. I just tried to put it back in the pathy and now the speakers won't cut on, the CD player works fine otherwise. I checked the fuses and connections, and even tried a different CD player. Any ideas?
  12. Just curious as to what kind of gas mileage I could expect with just a 3" BL and 32x11.5s on 15x8 767s? Right now I'm running 33s and actually getting around 16-17 mpg which I can't complain about with stock gears. On the highway, on hot days, sometimes its difficult to hold a constant speed, and the truck will downshift into 3rd a lot. At night this hardly happens though, which makes me think with 32s I could probably hold constant speeds easier on the highway. I would also be taking my SL off to save my front end parts and decrease wind resistance. I'm just trying to decide if its worth it.
  13. I average between 16-18 mpg, with 33" ATs...I can't complain really. Ido a lot of highway driving...probably around 40-50 miles on the highway a day. I will definitely be adding a "lock-out" switch soon to better control my overdrive...maybe get another mpg or so I hope. Next comes 4.9 gears.
  14. Whenever I close my driver's door my truck decides to lock itself...it gets very annoying. If I close it very, very gently it will stay open, but with any amount of force it locks. I've pulled out the lock controls, cleaned connections, looked for loose wires etc...Anyone else ever had this problem?
  15. Didn't even know the NPORA existed until a couple days ago....where have I been. I've owned three pathies, and have been driving\moding\fixing them for 5 years now. One of them is a 93' XE 2wd that was wrecked and I bought from my company. I've been parting it out slowly on the NW4 and 4x4parts forums, if yall need anything let me know. I currently have a 95' SE 4x4 that I will never sell, hopefully give it to my son in the future if I ever have a son that is. This summer I'm planning on building a front bumper, and putting 4.9 gears in my truck...I'll be hopefully posting pictures regularly.
